Uuuhhhmmmm. When you think you know too much, when Holy Spirit is directing us.
THE DECEIT OF KNOWLEDGE
The bible rightly said knowledge puffs up, that is, it makes us arrogant. Simply put a man who thinks he knows will be arrogant in nature as he prides himself in his knowledge. It is also difficult to correct a man who thinks he knows. Often the Christian prays for journey mercy, guidance etc. but most of the time we do not obey the answer to those prayers.
I had an appointment few days ago to visit someone in a security-sensitive zone. I prayed for favour, direction and guidance the previous night and prayed early morning of the meeting with Thanksgiving. At both prayer times I heard the Lord say to me "don't go with your phone, leave it in the room". Then the struggle of knowledge began, so many questions, battles of the mind and knowledge... how will I call the driver when I am done? what if I need to ask Rev'd Fola Achudume for an information? (she is my memory & info bank ), what of this? what of that?
The many knowledge based questions and infos in me blinded the gentle but truth of the future I have not entered which the Holy ghost to whom I have prayed to have ahead of me. He knows what will happen and how things will go and I began to argue (hmm... can you imagine arguing over a future you have not been in with one who is there?).
That is what we do when we disobey God's instructions to do what we think is right . We cause ourselves so much pain when we do not obey that voice of Him who knows the next hour and yet blame God.
I got there and I was told "sir you can't take your phone in". Can you imagining how I felt? Is it pain of disobedience? Or a wish I rewind the clock, regret of not obeying or almost hating my silly action? All and more. Felt so bad because its not a lesson I should learn now. The believer should not allow his humanity to override his divine nature to communicate with the spirit in prayers. We suffer when we do not obey His response to our prayers because we think "I have it worked out ". Based on the information and what we KNOW, we think we know what to do and what is needed.
You have a God you trust and believe in, you have prayed to Him for... believe He has and will answer then do as He commands or advises you (some of us cannot be commanded). I had to part with some money for someone to keep my phone for an hour and he billed me according to the size or quality of my phone, trust Nigerians. I felt bad at the #2,000 I paid not because of the amount but because it was not worth it, the disobedience was my pain and that God has spoken but I failed again.
It is my hope you learn from this because God cares to the little details of our life. He will speak to you again, don't repeat my mistake.
