"THE GIFT OF PEOPLE"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him.” (1 Samuel 17: 31)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when some people spoke to Saul about David’s disposition to defeat Goliath. David had the capacity to defeat Goliath, but he didn’t get the chance to go forth in the battlefield until some people spoke to Saul about him. David got a chance in the battlefield because some people took it upon them to speak to the king about him. David had the gift of people who spoke for him in the ears of the king.

Beloved, hear me as I hear the Lord: receive the gift of people who will speak about you in the ears of kings. Receive the gift of people who will cause kings to know about your potentials. Receive the gift of people who will advertise you to those who have the capacity to give you the opportunities you need. Receive the gift of people who will advertise you freely. Receive the gift of people who will announce your capacity to the kings of this world.

When those men spoke to Saul, he sent for David. So, the people who spoke for David caused him to gain access to the king. I pray for you: receive the gift of people who have what it takes to open major doors of access for you. Receive the gift of people who will cause kings to send for you. Receive the gift of people who will cause you to be invited to high places. Receive the gift of people who will cause you to gain access to high places.

The people who spoke to Saul mentioned positive words about David that caused him to invite David. The negative words of Eliab were not mentioned to Saul. I pray for you: may the voices of your haters not be heard by the kings of this world. May the voices of those who hate you not find the opportunity to speak to the kings you need. May the voices of your haters not be louder than the voices of your supporters when it matters most.

Welcome to that season where people will speak in your favour. Welcome to that season where people will advertise you to the kings of this world. Welcome to that season where people will give you access to kings.

"A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men." (Proverbs 18:16)

"MEGA OPPORTUNITIES"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him.” (1 Samuel 17: 31)

When David kept speaking of how Goliath was an uncircumcised Philistine, and kept asking about what would be done for the person who kills Goliath, some people heard him and made mention of David to Saul. Saul eventually sent for David and gave David leave to attack Goliath. David came to the battlefield with capacity to defeat and slay Goliath, but he didn’t get the opportunity until people spoke to Saul and Saul gave him the opportunity.

Beloved, hear me as I hear the Lord: in this season, may your capacity meet opportunity. May your divine deposits find opportunity for expression. May your greatness find platforms for expression. May what you have in you find opportunity for manifestation.

God is sending you carriers of opportunity. Receive opportunities to be more. Receive opportunities to rise higher. Receive opportunities to be distinguished above your rivals.

David had already been anointed as the king of Israel in the previous chapter. He had the oil of kingship and the oil of the victory of Israel, but it was not until he got the opportunity that he manifested what he had in him. I pray for you: may people grant you opportunities to manifest what God has put in you. May people give you platforms to shine forth the light that God put in you. Receive the opportunities for mega accomplishments.

Notice that Eliab was still on the battlefield when David got a chance to fight and defeat Goliath. The voices of negativity against David were still available, but could not stop his mega opportunity. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the voices of your haters will not stop your mega opportunities. No matter the community of those who do not believe in you, you will not miss your chance. Negative voices against you will not spoil your chance.

Welcome to your new season of mega opportunities. Welcome to that season where you will encounter major carriers of mega opportunities.

"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." (Ecclesiastes 9:11)

"NO FRUITLESSNESS"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“17. And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren; 18. And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.” (1 Samuel 17: 17-18)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of when David’s father arranged for different meals to be taken to his brothers in the battlefield. He also arranged for some food to be taken to their captain. David’s father went as far as asking for their next meal order. These brothers of David were being fed in the battlefield, but none of them could decimate Goliath. They were being fed but they produced no results. They were consuming without production.

Beloved, it is an error to be consuming without producing. It is an error to be receiving what should help you to produce results, yet not producing results. It is an error to be consuming God’s word without bringing forth the results that should come therefrom. It is an error to receive divine capacity without producing evidence of what God put in you. It is an error to have ideas, capacity, competence, etc. and not use same to make a difference.

David’s brothers ate food that should energize them to defeat Goliath, but it made no difference. May it never be said concerning you that you were taking in what ought to move you forward, yet you were not moving forward. May it never be said that you got resources for impact, yet you made no impact. May it never be said that you made major prayers that should move you forward, yet you failed to move forward.

David’s brothers ate food for weeks, in the battlefield, they got energized, but it was all in vain. Their empowerment was in vain. They consumed resources in vain. I pray for you: your efforts will not be in vain. Your prayers will not be in vain. Your consecration will not be in vain. Your competence will not be in vain. Your abilities will not be in vain. Your opportunities will not be in vain. Whatever should move you forward will not be in vain.

You were not designed to consume without producing. You were not designed to make efforts without results. As surely as the Lord lives, every resource of heaven in your life will lead to mega results.

"Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." (Genesis 1:28)

"NO MORE DELAY"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.” (1 Samuel 17: 16)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of how Goliath drew near every morning and evening, for forty days. The armies of Israel came to fight against the Philistines, but Goliath made sure to distract them from the battle by showing up every day for forty days. Goliath became a system of delay against the victory of Israel. Goliath became that time waster that ensured that they achieved nothing despite being in the battlefield.

Beloved, hear me as I hear the Lord: every system of the enemy that is wasting your time, I command it to go down by fire. Every voice of the enemy that is wasting your time in the fulfillment of your divine purpose, I command it to be silenced by fire. Every opposing system that is wasting your time and stopping you from rising, I shut it down.

Every system of hell that says your next level will be postponed again and again, I command it to go down.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: every ‘Goliath’ that has arisen to say that you will be delayed again and again, let fire answer. Every system that is delaying the destinies of your children, I command it to go down by fire. Every system of hell that says you will be delayed the same way others were delayed, I command it to scatter. Every siege of the enemy that says you will arrive at your new season later, rather than sooner, let it scatter.

I pray for you: let the hand of the Lord move you from the lane of delay to the lane of divine speed. Let the hand of the Lord cause your steps to be hastened. Let the hand of the Lord cause the matters of your life to receive speedy attention. Let the hand of the Lord cause your results to come speedily. Let the hand of the Lord cause you to break out of every system of delay. If there are people who have vowed to delay you, let fire answer.

The power of delay is broken. The things that once took years will happen in days. Whatever the enemy delayed in time past, I command it to manifest by fire.

"But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying." (Psalms 70:5)

"NO ENCHANTMENT"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.” (1 Samuel 17: 10)

In our Focal Scripture, Goliath defied the armies of Israel. The word ‘defy’ as used in that scripture means, among other things, ‘to curse’. So, every morning and evening, Goliath was releasing curses upon the armies of Israel.

Goliath was releasing satanic proclamations over the armies of Israel. Goliath was releasing satanic enchantments against the armies of Israel. Goliath was using his words to create an atmosphere of negativity.

Beloved, hear me as I hear the Lord: every evil voice that is raising satanic enchantments against you, let the fire of God answer. Every satanic voice that is speaking negativity into your destiny, I shut them up by fire. Every satanic priest that has arisen on any altar to speak an atmosphere of negativity over your life, both the priest and the altar, I command them to go down by fire. I command every satanic enchantment to end by fire.

Two armies came to fight against each other in the battlefield, but one man succeeded in using curses and satanic speaking to stop the armies of Israel from fighting. Goliath used his words to stop an entire army. Hear me as I hear the Lord: every person that is using satanic speaking to stop your advancement, I silence them by the power of God. I decree, no satanic proclamation will prevail over your destiny.

Notice that as Goliath spoke, no one replied or countered him until David turned up in the battlefield. Don’t be unmindful of the satanic speaking of those who want to stop you by all means; as they speak against you, counter their satanic speaking by speaking and reaffirming the word of the Lord over your life. Be proactive about declaring the word of the Lord concerning you and nullifying the words of the enemy.

Every enchantment raised against your destiny is broken. Every satanic speaking against your destiny is broken. Every curse of the enemy is broken.

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn."... (Isaiah 54:17)

"IT IS GOING DOWN"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.” (1 Samuel 17: 4)

Our Focal Scripture introduces Goliath as the champion from Gath. The word ‘champion’ as used in that scripture, is interpreted to mean ‘the man that stands between two spaces’. So, Goliath was that man that stood between Israel and their victory. Goliath found a way to stop Israel from fighting. He would step out and Israel would retreat. He stood between Israel and the result they came to obtain in the battlefield.

Beloved, what is standing between you and your next level? What is that satanic structure that is standing between you and your congratulations? What is that system that says you will fight perpetually without ever attaining victory? What is that power that is undermining your results? What is that arrangement of hell that says you will fight but never win? What is that speaking of the kingdom of darkness that says you will remain stagnated?

Whatever is standing between you and your new season, I command it to go down by fire. Every arrangement of hell that is standing between you and the answers to your prayers, I command it to go down. Everything that is standing between you and your victories, I command them to go down. Every conspiracy that is standing between you and your rising, I command it to scatter now. I command every Goliath to go down.

I pray for you: whether there be projections or manipulations that are standing between you and where you are going, I command them to go down. Every satanic wall that says you will not enter your new territories, let it go down by fire. If there be altars that have been erected to stop your rising and emergence, let the fire of God consume them now. Let the power of God arise against every enchantment against you.

I decree, that every Goliath standing between you and your new season goes down now. Whatever is standing between you and your rising, let it go down by fire.

"Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them." (Psalms 55:15)

"EXALTED NEGATIVITY"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.” (1 Samuel 17: 3)

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of how the Philistines stood on a mountain on one side while the armies of Israel stood on a mountain on the other side. So, Goliath was on the mountain. The one who chose to ridicule and challenge Israel was on the mountain. Negativity was standing on the mountain. Negativity was standing in high places. Negativity was standing in a place of prominence and visibility. Negativity stood on a height.

Beloved, hear me as I hear the Lord: every negativity that is standing on a height, I command it to go down by fire. Every negativity that has been elevated against you, I command it to go down. Every evil that has been set up and positioned in high places to work against your interest, I command it to go down. I command every arrangement of hell that is flowing from high places, to go down. I command wickedness in high places, to go down.

Hear me as I hear the Lord: whatever the enemy has elevated against you, it goes down now. Every conspiracy that has been elevated against you, I command it to go down. Every challenge that is standing against you in high places, I command it to go down. Every satanic door opened against you in high places, I shut it by fire. Every seat of Satan that is set up against you in high places, let it be dismantled by fire.

I decree, good things will come your way from high places. The goodness of God will flow to you from high places. Arrangements that will favour you will be made in high places. People in high places will favour you. Policies in high places will work for your good. Let doors be opened to you in high places. Let increase locate you from high places. Let the resources of heaven flow down to you. Let the high places work in your favour.

I dethrone every Goliath standing against you in high places. I command every negativity that is standing on the mountain to go down.

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." (Proverbs 18:10)

"BE MORE"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.” (1 Samuel 17: 28)

In our Focal Scripture, Eliab accused David of coming to merely see the battle. Notice that David had once slain a lion and a bear while in the bush taking care of his father’s sheep. David may have been brave in the bush, but his capacity was underrated in the battlefield by his own brother. David had more prowess than people knew about. He had more abilities than people could testify about. He was more, but appeared less.

Beloved, there is wisdom in being more, yet appearing less. There is wisdom in having more capacity than people can believe you for. There is wisdom in doing more exploits than people are aware of. There is wisdom in attaining more heights than people have heard about. There is wisdom in having more results than people are aware of. There is wisdom in being more than what people imagine about you. It is wise to be more.

David left everyone thinking that all he could do was to take care of sheep; he was silent about his prowess of killing the lion and the bear. There are times when you need not mention your capacity. There are times when the announcement your capacity needs, is opportunity. There are times when you just might need to stop talking about all you can do and start praying for God to send you opportunities to manifest your potentials.

Eliab underestimated David, but when David finally slew Goliath, there was no further mention of Eliab in Scripture. David got an opportunity to show what stuff he was made of, and Eliab was silenced forever. If you focus on using the opportunities that manifest your potentials, your results will silence your haters and naysayers. If you focus on delivering on your assignment, even your haters would see how wrong they have been.

It is better for people to underestimate you and later get blown away by your greatness, than for you to be overestimated and you end up disappointing those who believed in you too quickly.

"And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, "....(Deuteronomy 28:13)

"EYES ON THE FUTURE"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.” (1 Samuel 17: 28)

In our Focal Scripture, upon sighting David in the battle field, Eliab was filled with wrath. He queried why David came to the battlefield. He asked of whom the few sheep were left with. Eliab knew about David’s activities in the bush, with the sheep; he even knew that David had been anointed as king, but he had no idea that David was about to kill Goliath and remove the reproach of Israel. He knew about David’s past and present, but not the future.

Beloved, there are people who can effectively chronicle your past; they have a perfect understanding of your present; but they have no idea of your tomorrow. There are people who are only willing to see you through the binoculars of your past failures. There are people who are only willing to recognize your past and present but loathe your future. There are people who celebrate and announce your past and present, but hate your future.

The same way David was undeterred by the words of Eliab, refuse to be hounded by those who elevate your past above your future. Pay no attention to those who are quick to remind you of what didn’t go right, but are unwilling to recognize your glorious future. Refuse the words of those who want you to wear your past like an apron. Refuse the temptation of seeing yourself through the binoculars of your past.

Walk away from those that constantly remind you of, and blackmail you with your past. Disconnect from those who amplify your failures and weaknesses. Be done with your past failures. Forget about the things behind and press towards the future. Keep your eyes on your future. Keep your eyes on the possibilities that are soon becoming your reality. Keep your eyes on the divine agenda rather than the opinions of mere mortals.

Being fixated on your yesterday might make you recreate your yesterday in your tomorrow. No matter how hard your Eliab’s try to keep your eyes on your yesterday, keep your eyes on your tomorrow.

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," (Philippians 3:13)

I refuse to focus on my past; no Eliab will recreate my past in my future, in Jesus’ name!

"FALSE ACCUSERS"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.” (1 Samuel 17: 28)

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of that moment when Eliab got angry with David for showing up at the battlefield. Notice that David was instructed by their father to bring food items to his brothers and their captain. David came with good intentions towards his brothers, but Eliab judged David’s intention as being negative. He imputed negativity to what was meant to be a good gesture. He misjudged David’s intentions.

Beloved, one set of people you might likely meet in your destiny journey are those who simply misjudge your intentions. There are people willing to halt you by accusing you of wicked intentions for your good works. There are people who are willing to accuse you of wanting to advertise yourself too much even when your intention is to help them make progress. There are people who will hurriedly conclude that your good works are ill intended.

Eliab accused David of pride and naughtiness of heart; he accused David of merely wishing to see the battle; but in the end, David only came to bring them food. David eventually went ahead to fight and kill Goliath. So, the words of Eliab did not deter David. When the Eliab’s of this world misjudge your good intentions and accuse you falsely despite your good works, don’t allow their words to deter your good works.

Don’t allow the words of people to make you halt your good intentions. Don’t allow the misjudging of your good intentions to make you halt your good works. Don’t allow false accusations to make you change from being the good person you have chosen to be. Don’t allow the opinions of people to make you abandon what you can do to make a difference. Don’t fall for the scam of abandoning your victory over Goliath because of the words of ‘Eliab’.

Don’t be deterred by the false accusations of those who want you to stop. Don’t allow the misjudging of your good intentions to make you abandon your mission.

"Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ." (1 Peter 3:16)

AFFIRM WITH ME:
No false accusation will deter me; no ‘Eliab’ will make me abandon my mission, in Jesus’ name!

"IGNORE THE NAYSAYERS"

*Read* : 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.” (1 Samuel 17: 28)

In our Focal Scripture, Eliab railed against David for showing up in the battlefield. Eliab queried David about the few sheep in the wilderness and who he left them with. Eliab seemed to summarize the ability of David as being only about a few sheep. Eliab spoke words that ridiculed the capacity of David. The voice of Eliab was the voice of one who didn’t believe in David’s capacity. The voice of Eliab was a voice that ridicules capacity.

Eliab knew David for taking care of a few sheep, but he had no idea that whilst on that assignment of taking care of sheep, he had slain a lion with his hands. In fact, David had rescued his sheep from the mouth of the lion before killing the lion. David had done major exploits in the bush, where the eyes of his brother could not see. So, the voice of Eliab was that voice that ignorantly ridiculed the capacity of David.

Beloved, there are people who only know you from a distance, and therefore would assess you below the capacity that heaven has bestowed on you: pay no attention to them when they try to stop you. Don’t allow the voices of those who underrate you to stop you. Don’t allow the voices of those who have not seen your secret exploits to stop you. Don’t allow the voices of those who think you are not worth believing in, to stop you.

David had probably never mentioned his exploits in the bush to anyone until he spoke to Saul. So, he killed lions and bears in the bush, but remained faithful to his assignment of taking care of sheep, to the extent that his own brother underestimated his capacity. There are people who do not know your exploits, seeds, prayers, secret efforts, etc., and they would naturally try to ridicule your capacity. So, get set; they will soon see your results in action.

Remember, if there are voices who are either ignorant or unreceptive to the capacity you have in you, pay no attention to them.

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world." (1 John 4:4)

"NEGATIVE VOICES"

*Read*: 1 Samuel 17: 1-53

“And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.” (1 Samuel 17: 28)

In our Focal Scripture, Eliab, the eldest brother of David was infuriated by David’s persistent enquiry about what would be done for the man who defeats Goliath. Eliab queried why David turned up at the battlefield. He queried who David left their sheep with, in the wilderness. He accused David of being proud and naughty, merely wanting to see the battle; but the entire words of Eliab were not enough to deter David.

Beloved, if you intend to fulfill destiny, then pay no attention to the words of the Eliab’s of this world. Eliab joined the army before David, and would have imagined that he was qualified to regulate and mitigate David’s impact. The Eliab’s of this world believe they came before you and so you must remain subservient to them. They believe they have an age advantage over you. They believe they have a right to decide when you rise.

If there are people or systems or structures that believe they should decide when you will emerge, pay no attention to them. Refuse to operate within the limits that people have set for you. Don’t truncate your emergence in order to please people who are happy to see you redundant. Don’t cut short your abilities because of people who believe they have more to offer than you have. Don’t allow those who fear your emergence to hush you.

As you journey through life, you will likely come in contact with people who arrived before you or began before you, and so imagine that it is their right to determine when the time is right for you to emerge or manifest: pay no attention to them. Don’t allow things and systems and people who turned up before you to stop what God is able to make happen through your life. Don’t allow the voices that were heard before yours to stop you.

If David allowed the voice of Eliab to stop him, how would he have conquered Goliath? If David had allowed voices against his emergence to stop him, how would he have emerged?
…"but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God." (1 Samuel 30:6)
