No Faith. No Request. Still—Jesus Intervened.
Her only supposed remaining flame just went off. She was just licking her wounds—her husband dead, and now her only son on the way to be buried too. Double loss. It was unbearable.
She was weeping on the way to bury the only hope she had hoped for. Out of pity, people all came out to sympathise with her. Some genuinely to pity her. Others to secretly jeer at her, thinking probably she could be the witch eating up everyone in her household.
No one could console her.
And as far as she was concerned, there was nothing left to live for.
But—
“When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her…”
The Lord Jesus showed compassion, not pity. The Lord doesn’t join pity parties; He leads winning parties.
The Lord will have compassion on you too, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Uninvited, the Lord went near her and said a comforting word, “Do not weep.” She looked up weakly at Him. She didn’t answer Him.
More tears ran down her already puffed and swollen face. She was so much in great anguish!
The Lord Jesus Christ scanned her within the split of a second—not even a dot of faith in her. She was so crushed!
He felt her pain so deeply.
The Lord had to break a protocol for her sake! (Remember, He always performed miracles based on people’s faith).
Though she had no faith and did not even know Who had just spoken to her, the Lord proceeded to the open coffin carrying the lifeless young man.
"And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother." Luke 7:14–15.
If not for grace, her heart almost stopped totally.
Her joy knew no bounds. Whose wouldn’t?
Dear reader, I speak to your life: the Lord will have compassion on you even if you don’t have faith, or you have lost faith in Him.
Say to yourself (and please mean it):
=> Like the widow of Nain, Lord Jesus Christ, pay me a visit too.
=> Like the widow of Nain, Lord Jesus Christ, have compassion on my situation too.
=> Like the widow of Nain, Lord Jesus Christ, restore good things that had died in my life too.
=> O Lord, I know I don’t have faith enough to change my story to glory; please still visit me in Your mercy.
