The Summary Report Of The 2025 New Year Retreat
The retreat was held at the Schoenstatt community house Ijokodo Ibadan and it was directed by Rev. Fr. Kingsley Okereke.
The programme started at about 9:30 am with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
There after we prayed the Holy Rosary together. Side by side,we had the confession and the sing praises on to the lord.
After the confession,we had the benediction and the talked followed.
Talking on the topic Journeying in Hope with Christ.,the director Rev. Fr. Kinsley emphasized the need to stoplight the Jubilee year topic Pilgrims of hope in connection with the topic.
He pointed that we are called to live in hope and so to do this,we must learn to understand our faith,the need of our time and work to put this into reality of our world.
He stressed that as YCW members,we are to become the difference as our homes,offices and anywhere.
He pointed that though the economy is poor and that we must try to exercise our faith so that the light of Christ will be brought to all.
He also said that we must try to help people grow their faith and not hinder them to grow.
After the talk,we had the mass.
Review of life.
This main point which is the review of life was centred on the topic parental theft : who to blame.
To do justice to this topic, we had a group discussion of about three groups.
The first group and the subtopic was Love and trust in relation to parental theft.
The second group with the subtopic on parental theft : the cultural implications.
The third was on Parental theft and the causes.
Each group when deep into discussion with the See,Judge and Act principle.
It was a well deliberated topics and we had the actions outlined.
After the review of life,we had a love feast where we share our little with each other.
Finally,as part of the recommendations,we had a visit to the pilgrimage centre of the Marian Shrine in the compound.
Finally,we capped it with a group photograph.
