TOPIC: Do You See Only Dry Bones?
TEXT : The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest. Ezekiel 37:1, 3 (KJV)
Have you ever looked at a situation in your life and concluded that it’s completely over? Maybe it’s a broken relationship, a failed business, or a dream you gave up on years ago. We often "pass by" these areas of our lives and describe them exactly as we see them: "very many" and "very dry." We focus on the facts—the lack of life, the passage of time, and the impossibility of restoration. But notice that God didn't ask Ezekiel for his expert opinion on the bones; He asked, "Can these bones live?" God was checking to see if Ezekiel’s hope was based on the condition of the valley or the character of the Creator. When we are in a barren valley, we tend to talk about our dry bones, but God wants us to speak to them. Your situation might be dry, but it isn't beyond the reach of the Breath of God.
Beloved, your current "valley" is not a cemetery; it is a laboratory for a miracle. Do not allow the dryness of your circumstances to convince you that the story is finished. Spiritual maturity is found in the believer who can look at a hopeless situation and say, "O Lord God, thou knowest." It is the humble admission that while we see an end, God sees an opportunity for a new beginning. Strengthening your walk involves a daily willingness to prophesy life over your dry places—speaking the Word of God over your mind, your family, and your future. When the Spirit of God begins to breathe, even the driest bones have to come together. Let your soul be expectant today. Yield your "final conclusions" to the power of His resurrection breath.
