Allah says in the holy Quran surah Al-Ma'idah 5:50

أَفَحُكْمَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَۚ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حُكْمًا لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ
Then is it the judgement of [the time of] ignorance they desire? But who is better than Allāh in judgement for a people who are certain [in faith].

What is Jahiliyah (time of ignorance)?

Jahiliyah are times of ignorance and where knowledge is non-existent or such knowledge available is not that from Allah. As a result, Allah warns Muslims against Jahiliyah. We cannot be a complete Muslim except we abstain from this period. Every religion and society has their time of ignorance. Allah raised prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to save the Arabs from Jahiliyah. Allah cured most of the polytheists from idol worship with Islam and the prophet would correct Muslims once he noticed they tried to deviate. Globally including developing countries such as Nigeria we got exonerated of our Jahiliyah through Islam.

Allah made mention of this period 4 major times among others in the holy Quran. Allah says in surah Aal-e-Imran 3:154

ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُّعَاسًا يَغْشَىٰ طَآئِفَةً مِّنكُمْۖ وَطَآئِفَةٌ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ ظَنَّ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِۖ يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ مِن شَىْءٍۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُۥ لِلَّهِۗ يُخْفُونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم مَّا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَۖ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ مَّا قُتِلْنَا هَٰهُنَاۗ قُل لَّوْ كُنتُمْ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَتْلُ إِلَىٰ مَضَاجِعِهِمْۖ وَلِيَبْتَلِىَ ٱللَّهُ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of]

Usman bn. Affan was the third caliph after the death of prophet Muhammad (pbuh). He did two Hijrah in his lifetime, used two qiblas (that is he was one of the foremost Muslims using a certain kiblah before it was changed) and relied only on all the decrees of Allah. Some of the key attributes of Sufis are patience, worship, fasting, modesty and striving and spending in the cause of Allah. He possessed and made use of these attributes throughout his lifetime.

In a hadith reported by Abdullah bn Umar, a Quran verse was revealed where it was asked who worshiped Allah and used all his nights for tahajjud and strived towards meeting Allah with His blessings. Hassan then said Usman bin Affan possessed all the qualities. Subayr bin Abdullah reported from his grandmother called Siamah, who reported that Usman used most of his time to fast and nights for nafil except he slept only in the first hours of the night.

Seyyidinah Usman would observe only one rakah for his tahajjud but wouldn't complete the rakah unless he read the whole Quran. Abdulrahman ibn Al-tamih reported that he was going to Maqam Ibrahim and stayed near while he was going to pray Ishai. While standing he saw a person who was Usman bn Affan and started nafil and was reading the Quran till he completed it. After the rakah, he prostrated but he wasn't sure he completed the rakah. Muhammad bn Sarain reported that the wife of Seyyidinah Usman said some people intended to kill Seyyidinah Usman and he asked if they should be killed or spared because of the night he used it to pray and observed only one rakah where he completed the whole Quran. This was how Seyyidinah Usman did till his death. Shar’ reported that Musjruq met Astar and accused him of killing Seyyidinah Usman and he accepted and he said he had kill
