THE WIDOW OF NAIN
Luke 7:12-15

This story of Jesus' raising the son of the widow of Naim gives us some information that lets us know just how important it was for this widow.

At that time, women had no way to earn a living. They were property of their parents until they became property of their husbands, and actually moved into the home of the husband.

Now that this widow's son had died, she had no one to take care of her. The compassion that Jesus showed meant life to that widow.

I'm sure the leaders weren't too happy that the power of God to raise someone from the dead rested in Jesus. There must also have been those who were saying, "Why her and not me?" We all will die and we will all lose someone we love including those of us who have and will lose children. We can easily read this passage and question.

_It can be difficult to understand God's plan for us, even though we keep trying. It is better to concentrate on the positive than the negative._

A priest I once knew lost both of his parents when he was in his teens. He decided to thank God for the years he had and the love they gave him instead of the years that he would not share with them. We, too, can have this perspective even though it is a difficult one. We have two choices, we can accept what life gives us and thank God for helping us to deal with it; or we can blame God for our misfortunes and lose the opportunity to grow closer to him and to his son by carrying our crosses with faith in his love.

As humans, our body naturally opposes anything that's not comfort or seems like suffering and that's when we need the Holy Spirit the most, as our comforter, to safely help us evaluate situations and find a way out.

Don't forget to tell someone about Christ!

*NO IMPOSSIBILITY WITH GOD*

2Kings 7:1-20
The situation in Israel was so terrible and eventually, God sent His servant to them with a message. It was a message of great hope but also sounded mysterious. How could it possibly be considering the current situation of things. Despite this fact of how impossible it seemed for the promise to be fulfilled, the people allowed there joy and hope to override their fears and doubts but one man because of His knowledge said categorically based on all available empirical evidences that *it was impossible for God to make good His promise.* And immediately he was judged.

We should know that God is able and willing to do all HE promise to do. And no matter how unbelievable or too big for us to comprehend or calculate, we should never doubt or disbelief God. We shouldn't even try to calculate the way and manner the miracle will happen, when we do, we limit HIM and HE doesn't like that, infact, it makes HIM angry and like the king's officer was judged, we also would be judged, and instead of being blessed and lifted, we would end up as casualties. The king's economic adviser saw it happen as promised by God thru HIS Servant, but he never part-took of it.

No matter what the situation is with us or around us, no matter the pressure or the force with which it is either coming or already hitting at us; God is able to turn things around in a way we cant fathom or imagine. All we should do is to trust in HIM and stay our rest on HIM, and in the end, we shall jubilate.
the bible says:

Mark 10:27
[27]And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Also
Luke 1:37
[37]For with God nothing shall be impossible.
And
Jeremiah 32:27
[27]Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

All of the above attests to the fact that God is unlimited and can never be incapacitated or hindered. *May He prove HIMSELF mighty and able in your life

THE PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING (PART 1)

The Bible admonishes us to pray all manner of prayers, one of which is the Prayer of Thanksgiving which is so potent, never failing and never missing it's target. It is very possible to miss the Target or aim outrighly at a wrong target. But with the prayer of Thanksgiving never misses it's target as God is always the Target and it is He who determines the next course of action.
All through the holy scriptures, we see the wonders and effectiveness of this form of prayer and we must know that it remains as active and powerful as it was back then today. After being beating and thoroughly scourged during the day, these two generals of God, during the midnight of the same day when the pain from their scars is expected to be at its peak, decided to act against what their bodies must have been telling them and switched over to singing the praise of God and in the end, an earthquake occured and the very foundation of the prison was shaken, the prison doors all flung open and they eventually gained their freedom.
What more shall we say about the falling of the wall of Jericho. Just by the praise of the Almighty God, the wall which stood between the children and their possession sank, paving the way for them to enter into their glorious inheritance.
Once during the reign of king Jehoshaphat, three great nations gathered inbattke against the nation of Israel (2Chro.20). Perplexed and not knowing what to do, the king ran to the prophet who told them the mind of God. Before long, something that had never happened before happened, instead of going to battle with their military men, the children of Israel entered the battle with worshippers who sang and praised God and soldiers behind. In the end, as the Israelites, praised God, the enemy nation's fought against themselves until they destroyed one another and the soldiers of Israel only had the responsibility of packing the plunders which they never laboured for. Whatever it is that is the worry, which you have prayed and prayed over and it seem not to shift, it's not time to give up o, it's rather the time to switch to praise.

As the year gradually winds down, the tendency is for us to start getting agitated about unmet targets and goals. But instead of doing that, its good for us to take stock of all that has been done so far in our life and give thanks to the almighty God for them. This heart and act of gratitude will stir God up and cause Him to act on our behalf. May the joy of this season be your portion and may all around you and those dear to you be a source of joy and inspiration to you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

We should always be thankful to God for HIS grace and mercy. HIS grace which qualifies us for "the blessing" and the various benefits that we enjoy. HIS Mercy is that which spares us from every judgement and spares our lives. Constant appreciation to this GOD of all comfort should be our daily duty for all we breathe our last. Indeed, GOD is good, HIS mercies endures forever and HIS faithfulness endures unto all generation.

MY JOURNEY TO CHRISTIANITY
(PART THREE)

Please note that this story is not to spite anyone. Neither is it to accuse or alledge anyone. It is for Gods glory. It is to appreciate the God who saw me broken, infact shattered and is in the process of making a superstar.

I kept going deeper and deeper in vices, looking for a way to fill the void in my heart but the more I tried, the more I failed. Also worthy of note is that by this time, there was a shadow which was always coming to check spy at me. Many times when am alone, it would come peep at me and leave. Sometimes when am lying down, the lower part of my body, (my hips to my feet) would suddenly be lifted to a point and dropped again gradually and at other times it would be the upper part of my body. Another thing is that I always saw myself in my dreams falling off the steps. Meanwhile, I was doing well in the development of my islamic knowledge and practice. By my second term in ss2, I was one of the few muslim students who worked with our I.R.S teacher to start the Muslim Student Society in our darling Loyola College. I was even One of those who lead prayers in our community mosque in my area but even all these didn't help to fill the void in my heart as it grew deeper and wider and nothing I did went so close to filling it. At a point, I fell ill and despite all treatments, I wasn't getting any better. One night, at about 10:00 - 11:00pm, an angel appeared to me in my room and drew my spirit out of my body.and we flew to the point where there was a dark and very deep pit between us and heaven. I took a critical look at that glorious and amazing sight on the other side and told the angel that I wanted to go to the place I was seeing and I became more persistent about going there when the angel told me that it was time for him to go back to where he came from which is where I was looking at. At this point, I have to say that the glory of heaven is incomparable to anything we see around us here. What we call white and and what we call brightness on earth are nothing near the whiteness and brightness of heaven. Then the angel said "THAT PLACE YOU ARE SEEING WILL SURELY BE YOUR HOME BUT IT'S NOT YET TIME FOR YOU TO GO THERE" then, I Asked what he meant by "it wasn't time" and he responded "THERE IS AN ASSIGNMENT THAT YOU MUST ACCOMPLISH" I looked at the angel intently and insisted I was going with him and at that, he pushed me into the dark pit before us and woke up on my bed.
