HOW TO PERFORM THE RITUAL WASHING OF THE DECEASED IN ISLAM ☪️

🔹 1. Preparation
Choose a clean place.
Prepare water, soap, clean white cloth, and the shroud (3 pieces for men, 5 for women).
Wear gloves out of respect.

🔹 2. Intention
Those washing the body should make the intention: “We intend to perform the Islamic ritual washing for this deceased, for the sake of Allah.”

🔹 3. Covering the Body
Lay the deceased on a mat and cover the whole body out of honor and respect.

🔹 4. Cleaning the Private Area
Gently clean the private parts using a cloth, without looking directly.

🔹 5. Performing Ablution (Wudu) for the Deceased
Perform ablution as you would for a living person:
Face, hands, head, ears, and feet.

🔹 6. Washing the Body Three Times
Begin with the right side, then the left.
Wash the entire body three times. If available, use camphor or fragrance in the final wash.

🔹 7. Drying and Shrouding the Body
Dry the body with a clean cloth.
Wrap with the burial shroud (3 pieces for men, 5 for women).
Tie the head, waist, and feet securely.

🔹 8. Funeral Prayer
After shrouding, the body is taken to the mosque for Salat al-Janazah (Funeral Prayer) before burial.

This is the complete method of washing the deceased as taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). May Allah grant us the ability to perform it properly when the time comes.
