Prayer is not about getting heaven to agree with our will. It is about bringing our will into alignment with God’s will.

As we were taught last Sunday by Pastor Poju, true prayer is about seeing God’s will established on earth as it is in heaven, not about imposing our desires on God.

This therefore implies that effective prayer does not begin with whatever we desire, but with a knowledge of God’s will for us.

No be so?

Sometimes, the trouble we are dealing with outside has already found a home within us.

In Sunday’s message, Practice of Meditation (2), Pastor Poju Oyemade drew attention to Job’s words: “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me...” He went on to explain that “the trouble that came was the trouble in me.”

What occupies our thoughts matters. What we repeatedly focus on can shape our consciousness and influence the way we respond to the world around us.

The answer is not to ignore reality, but to become intentional about what we allow to take root within us, especially the truth of God’s Word.

In Sunday’s message, Practice of Meditation (2), Pastor Poju Oyemade reminded us that what occupies our thoughts consistently is not insignificant.

What we allow into our meditation begins to shape our consciousness, our focus and, ultimately, the experiences we create.

The question, then, is not simply “What am I thinking about?” but ‘What am I continually giving my mind to?’

God’s Word gives us new material to meditate on - truth that can reshape our thinking and, by God’s grace, lead us into unusual progress.

15 years. One marriage. Countless lessons.

Today, we celebrate 15 years of marriage for our Campus Pastor and his delectable wife.

And what better way to celebrate than to sit with them and ask three simple questions: How long have you been married? What has kept you together for this long? What would you tell young couples?

Their answers are a reminder that lasting marriage isn't built in a day. It is built through the everyday choices to love, learn, forgive, grow and keep God at the centre.

This conversation also marks the launch of “2 Minutes With…” A new TCN Ibadan series where we sit with couples and glean from the wisdom gathered through years of walking together.

Some lessons are best learned from people who have lived them.
