2027: I never asked any aspirant to step down for me in Ogun Central - Amosun breaks silence

Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has dismissed reports suggesting that he asked other aspirants in Ogun Central All Progressives Congreee, APC, to withdraw for him ahead of the 2027 general elections,

Amosun, while clearing the air on a circulating report, described such claims as a misrepresentation of proceedings at a recent stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Ogun Central Senatorial District.

In a statement issued by his media office, Amosun clarified that the meeting, held on Thursday at the residence of elder statesman Olusegun Osoba, was convened at his instance following speculations about his possible candidacy.

According to him, contrary to reports circulating in sections of the media, he neither requested nor pressured any aspirant to step down for him, stressing that such an action would be undemocratic and inconsistent with his political principles

Amosun explained that during the meeting, he merely recounted how three senatorial aspirants from the district had earlier visited him individually to seek his support.

He noted further that each of them had voluntarily indicated a willingness to withdraw from the race if he decided to contest.

He, however, maintained that he did not at any point accept or encourage such offers.

“Nowhere throughout the meeting did I request anyone to withdraw from the race for me because that would be undemocratic and unacceptable,” the statement read.

The former governor, who also served two terms as senator representing Ogun Central, reiterated his democratic credentials, noting that his political career has been shaped by competitive electoral processes.

He further emphasised that while he has not ruled out political participation, he would not be part of any primary election process whose outcome is predetermined.

“What I said at the meeting, which I reiterate, is that I would not be part of a primary election whose result is predetermined,” he stated.

But if they check and he is, then he definitely is not a Nigerian.

His father has questions to answer.

1. Peter Obi rejected monthly pension as Ex Governor.
2. Peter Obi rejected lands given to Ex Governors as part of their entitlements.

3. Peter Obi rejected House & Furniture Allowance as Chairman of Security & Exchange Commission, SEC, Abuja 2015.

4. Peter Obi rejected $1m dollars as prize money for being the First & Best Governor to achieve the 2020 Millennium Development Goals, MDGs.

5. Peter Obi rejected the offer of an Oil Well, one of the reasons Nigerian Politicians k!ll to attain Abuja Status.

6. Peter Obi rejected the allocation of millions of naira for the set up of office of the First Lady. Insisting that his wife was not an elected official.

7. Peter Obi rejected the proposal to share the State annual budget on percentage with the State House of Assembly leading to his first unlawful impeachment.

8. Peter Obi handed over about in cash & assets after 8yrs as Governor, rejecting to convert it to personal use like other Governors did.

This man has conquered man's most natural, intense & vicious appetite...Greed.

I want someone to prove just one of these statements to be false.
