PRAYER FOR THE CHURCH IN NIGERIA AGAINST KILLINGS & PERSECUTION
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today as Your church in Nigeria, crying out for Your mercy, protection, and intervention. Your word says, “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9). Lord, be the refuge of Your people.
Father, according to Psalm 91:5–7,
“We shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day… Though a thousand fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand, it shall not come near us.”
So we declare that every weapon of killers, terrorists, and wicked men against the church shall not prosper in the name of Jesus.
Lord, Your word says in Isaiah 54:17,
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.”
We condemn every agenda, plot, and decree of death against Christians, pastors, missionaries, and worship centers across Nigeria.
Father, arise as the God of justice!
“Break the arm of the wicked and evil man” (Psalm 10:15).
Bring down every force sponsoring killings. Expose every political power, every group, and every agent behind the destruction of lives.
Lord, Your word promises in Psalm 125:3
“The rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous.”
Therefore, we decree that evil rulers, wicked policies, and violent oppressors will not prevail over the church in Nigeria.
We cry like the psalmist in Psalm 12:5,
“Because the poor are oppressed and the needy groan, I will arise,” says the Lord.
O God, arise for Your church! Arise for the persecuted! Arise for the helpless! Be a wall of fire around every believer (Zechariah 2:5).
Lord, Your word declares in Psalm 46:9,
“He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth.”
Let every war against the church cease. Let every siege be broken. Let peace return to every region afflicted by killers and terrorists.
Father, strengthen the hearts of Your children.
For Your word says in Psalm 10:17,
“Lord, You hear the desire of the afflicted; You encourage them and listen to their cry.”
Encourage Your church. Let fear be swallowed by faith. Let sorrow be replaced with joy. Let despair be replaced with hope.
We speak over the Nigerian church:
You shall not die; you shall live to declare the works of the Lord (Psalm 118:17).
The gates of hell shall not prevail against you (Matthew 16:18).
Thank You, Lord, for hearing us.
Thank You for preserving Your church.
Thank You for frustrating the plans of evil men.
Thank You for releasing Your angels to watch over Your people.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray.
Amen.
