Topic: Hypocrite???
Text: Matt 23:25-28
25 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence! 26 You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too.
27 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs—beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity. 28 Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.
Message:
An hypocrite is a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion or a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated belief or feelings.In the above text Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and Saducees because they profess to be righteous publicly but in their privacy they are full of sinful sins. Another word for hypocrite is to pretend (I.e not being real). A lot of believers today are hypocritic in nature.Outside they profess godliness but privately, they are worst than unbelievers. In fact, many of them conderm people who practice lawlessness outside while they themselves are swimming in that same act. We have bible study teachers, Evangelism coordinators, pastors etc who speaks against sexual immorality, po*******hy and aggressively conderm it openly while they themselves are enjoying it lustful and destructive pleasure when no one sees them.The bible told us of such in Titus 1:16"Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good". In Rom 2:1-3,Apostle Paul made it clear that a hypocrite cannot escape the judgement of God. Check yourself, are you sure you are not showing or living a hypocritic lifestyle?? The things you practice when no one sees you can you boldly say it openly?Are you not claiming to be righteous outside while within you are full of lawlessness?
You may think no one sees you but God sees all things.The bible says "The eyes of God goes to and fro over the earth" You may think you are deceiving man.Yes! you can successfully deceive your fellow human beings but you cannot deceive God. Stop that secret sin! Stop that hypocritic lifestyle! Lest the judgement of God comes upon you. (GOFEG)
