PRAISING GOD CONTINUALLY

THE WORD
1 Chronicles 16:37-43 (KJV) So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required:
And Obed-edom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obed-edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:
And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,
To offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;
And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever;
And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.
And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house."

THE MESSAGE
After putting the ark of God into the tabernacle prepared for it by David, he also raised priests and singers to be ministering in sacrifice and music continually before the LORD.
It was a daily obligation of the priests and the Levites to bring sacrifices and songs of praise to God.
As believers in Christ, we have no business with offering the sacrifice of animals or anything with blood because Christ did that for us on the cross. All religious rituals and sacrifices were settled on the cross, so we don't have to shed any blood or do any ritual apart from the ordinances of water baptism and holy communion given to us by Christ.
Bur as priests of God through Christ, we have the obligation of praising God continually as indicated in the following scriptures: 1 Peter 2:5, 9, "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"
Hebrews 13:15, "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."
Living a praiseful life is what we are to be doing as believers in Christ. We are to be showing forth God's praise through our lives and be singing His praise and thanksgiving with our mouths.
This is our daily obligation in response to His love and sacrifice for our salvation.
Are you praiseful to God continually in your daily life? Give Him praise always.

PRAYER
God of love, who gave us Your only begotten Son for our salvation. Give us a grateful heart that appreciates Your love and praise You continually in Jesus Mighty Name.
Amen.

THE TRAGEDY OF UNGODLY CHILDREN

THE WORD
1 Chronicles 7:20-24, "And the sons of Ephraim; Shuthelah, and Bered his son, and Tahath his son, and Eladah his son, and Tahath his son,
And Zabad his son, and Shuthelah his son, and Ezer, and Elead, whom the men of Gath that were born in that land slew, because they came down to take away their cattle.
And Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.
And when he went in to his wife, she conceived, and bare a son, and he called his name Beriah, because it went evil with his house.
(And his daughter was Sherah, who built Beth-horon the nether, and the upper, and Uzzen-sherah.)"

THE MESSAGE
Today's scripture revealed the tragedy of having ungodly children in our family. It was so sorrowful that all the first sons of Ephraim, about nine of them, were killed one day because they were cattle rustlers. Imagine nine sons going into robbery business. That was a serious issue. They brought a great sorrow to their father because of their waywardness, which led to their untimely death.
This is to serve as a lesson for parents that the children we fail to teach in the way of the LORD will eventually bring tragedy to the family. If these children had been taught in the fear of God and brought up in a godly way, all of them would not have gone the way of destruction.
Failure to pray for our children regularly will lead to devil's taking over of their lives, which may lead to serious problems.
Also, failure to be intentional in training and bringing them up in a godly way may create sorrowful situation in the future.
Probably, these children were even taught well, but they were influenced by their peers or ungodly relatives as it is common today. Yet godly parents need to keep a spiritual watch over their children nowadays because the devil's attention now seems to be focused on children from godly parents to spoil their testimony.
When we do our part faithfully as parents by training them in a godly way with serious prayers. God will be faithful to save them and make them our future joy and blessings.

PRAYER
O God of heaven and earth, give all parents reading this post the heart of following the scripture in raising their children for God, by teaching them the word of God and the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom and praying for them that they may become their future blessings in Jesus Mighty Name.
Amen.

VICTORY THROUGH FAITH AND PRAYER

THE WORD
1 Chronicles 5:18-22, "The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.
And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.
And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.
For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity."

THE MESSAGE
The two and a half tribes of Israel on the other side of Jordan went to war for the expansion of their territory. God had given them the whole land of Canaan as their possession, but they have to fight to secure their portions tribe by tribe.
In today's scripture, it was the tribe of Gad that was seeking expansion, and the other tribes of Reuben and half Manasseh joined them to fight the battle. The people of the land were not easy to conquer. But these tribes of Israel put their trust in God, and they cried unto Him in serious prayers, and God fought and won the battle for them.
The scripture was emphatic on the secret of their victory. Because they put their trust in God and cried unto Him, therefore God fought on their behalf and gave them victory.
It is encouraging to know that God is still the same today. For those who are faced with whatever battle of life, if they can put their trust in God and not in man. Not in one prophet or pastor, not in one herbalist or native doctor but in the Almighty God. And they can back up their faith with serious prayers. I mean importunate and tenacious prayers according to the parable of the widow and the judge in Luke 18. They will surely experience victory with additional prosperity.
God still answers prayer for those who can pray with undeniable faith and tenacity.

PRAYER
O God that answers prayer, give us the adamant faith for prevailing prayers in all our life's situations that we may be experiencing Your power and enjoying Your goodness every day of our life in Jesus Mighty Name.
Amen.

REWRITING YOUR LIFE'S STORY

THE WORD
1 Chronicles 4:9-10 "And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."

THE MESSAGE
Out of over six hundred others in the genealogical list in 1 Chronicles, God singled out one man for recognition because he rewrote his life's story with honour through his devotion to God.
Jabez, due to his name, had a terrible beginning. For a woman to named her child 'Sorrow ', which is the meaning of Jabez, showed that he was born in a sorrowful condition, without a hope of survival or future greatness.
But Jabez did not give up to fate. Rather, he looked beyond his condition and had great ambition. Also, he looked beyond himself and had great faith in the God of Israel, who changed the name and story of Jacob in one night of prevailing in prayer.
He also laid hold on God with great prayers that heaven could not deny.
Thus, he lived above average and became honourable above his brethren, like from the lowest level to the highest. To the extent he had a city built in his name for the elites in 1 Chronicles 2:55.
When God can find a man or woman of great vision, great faith, and great prayers, He can turn such person's story to glory.

PRAYER
Almighty God, who is able to do all things. Grant us the spirit that works against our unpleasant situation through great vision, great faith, great prayer, and labour until our story is rewritten with glory in Jesus Mighty Name.
Amen.

THE COST OF MAKING HEAVEN

THE WORD
Mark 10:17-23 "And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!"

THE MESSAGE
The rich young ruler desired to inherit eternal life. Jesus gave him the preliminary condition, which he scaled through. Then Jesus gave him the last condition of selling all his possessions and giving them unto the poor and needy, and then took up his cross to follow Jesus. The rich man became sad and went away sorrowful. He would prefer to lose eternal life than to lose his temporal wealth.
One major lesson we are to learn here is that while salvation is free by the payment of Christ on the cross John 3:14-16. Making heaven is very costly based on the demands of what it takes to get there.
Just like a student who has been offered free and full scholarship to become a university graduate. While all expenses are free, still it will take his arduous labour in studying well to know what he's learning, keeping to the rules of the college, doing away with all distractions to concentrate on his studies and performing well in his tests and exams to have high grades and eventually become a graduate. The scholarship has given him an opportunity. He will pay action part of it.
So also salvation is free, but we must be ready to obey all that God demands as the cost of making heaven.
In summary, it will cost us all that are valuable to us. Such as relations, possessions, pleasures, indulgences, positions, dreams, desires, ambitions and many more.
This was the essence of the parable in Matthew 13:44 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field."
Christ categorically stated in Luke 14:33, "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple."

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, grant us the grace and power to be ready to pay all it takes to make heaven at last in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen. J. Oluniyi-Ajulo (JGM) +2348057317115
