Devotional Sunday Service
Date: 10th May, 2026
Sermon by: Pastor M.O. Ojeniyi
Topic: Misconceptions About the Meaning of Salvation
Scripture Reading: Acts 4:5–12
Bible Text: Act 4:12, John 3:16

What Is Salvation?

Salvation means deliverance from sin and freedom from the wrath of God. It is being rescued from the kingdom of darkness and the power of the devil, and being brought out of destruction into eternal life. Jesus Christ is the source and foundation of our salvation.

It is possible for someone to attend church services regularly and still not be genuinely saved.

Common Misconceptions About Salvation

1. Attending church regularly does not mean a person is saved.
2. Being baptized does not automatically make a person saved.
3. Holding a church title or position does not guarantee salvation.
4. Being a full church member does not make a person saved.
5. Being a popular member in the church does not mean a person is saved.
6. Keeping God’s commandments outwardly without true repentance is not salvation.
7. Being kind or morally good alone does not guarantee salvation.

Three Categories of People Who Cannot Be Saved

1. Sinners who refuse to acknowledge that they are sinners.
2. Religious fanatics who depend only on religion without genuine faith in Christ.
3. Individuals who claim to accept Jesus Christ but have not truly repented from their sins.

Sinners Who Can Be Saved

1. Sinners who recognize themselves as sinners and accept the Gospel.
2. Sinners who humble themselves before God.
3. Sinners who obey the Word of God and genuinely repent.

Pentecostal Sunday Service
Date: Sunday, 3rd May 2026
Preacher: Pastor M.O. Ojeniyi
Text: Proverbs 6:16–18
Topic: Five Things That God Hates

The sermon is based on Proverbs 6:16–18, where Scripture outlines attitudes and actions that are displeasing to God. The following five points were

1. A Proud Look
Pride is detestable before God and often leads to destruction. Believers are therefore encouraged to walk in humility at all times (Proverbs 6:16–18).

2. A Lying Tongue
God abhors falsehood, and He delights in truth. Christians are called to be truthful in word and in deed (Proverbs 12:22).

3. Hands That Shed Innocent Blood
The shedding of innocent blood and acts of injustice are grievous before God, as emphasized in Psalms 18:27, Psalms 120:2, and Isaiah 1:15.

4. A Heart That Devises Evil
God condemns not only sinful actions but also evil intentions and plans conceived in the heart (Proverbs 15:26).

5. Godly Couples Living in Misunderstanding
God desires peace, unity, and mutual understanding within the home. Persistent misunderstanding and unresolved conflict between couples can hinder spiritual growth and disrupt God’s purpose for marriage. Couples are therefore encouraged to cultivate love, patience, forgiveness, and clear communication, in line with biblical principles (Proverbs 11:29; Proverbs 5:27).
