As we enter this new week, we give thanks to Olódùmarè for the gift of life, renewed strength, and divine guidance. May this week unfold with clarity, favor, and abundant blessings. May our paths be cleared of every obstacle, and may our efforts yield fruitful results.

On this sacred Òṣè Ògún offering day, we honor Ògún, the Òrìṣà of strength, iron, diligence, and righteous justice. The Ose Meji Obamoro Festival in Ibadan is a sacred cultural and spiritual celebration that honors the Odu Ifa Ose Meji, the oracle traditionally linked to the divine establishment and destiny of Ibadanland. According to oral history, when Lagelu sought divine guidance for settlement and leadership, Ifa revealed Ose Meji, assuring growth, resilience, and enduring prosperity for the land.

The festival stands as a remembrance of that prophetic foundation. It reflects the identity, strength, and unity of the Ibadan people, celebrating not only spiritual heritage but also cultural pride. Elders, traditional leaders, priests, scholars, and indigenes both at home and in the diaspora gather to offer prayers, perform rites, share historical reflections, and reaffirm their connection to ancestral wisdom.

Ose Meji Obamoro is more than a festival; it is a reaffirmation of destiny. It reminds the people of Ibadan that their city was founded upon divine counsel, perseverance, and communal strength. Through this annual observance, the legacy of the ancestors is preserved, and the spiritual relevance of Ifa in guiding society is renewed.

The celebration continues to promote unity, heritage preservation, and cultural education, ensuring that the prophetic voice of Ose Meji remains alive for generations to come.
