PRAY FOR OUR SPIRITUAL FATHERS
Pray for our spiritual fathers, pray for Daddy Adeboye, papa kumuyi, papa Uma okapi, Dr Olukoya, Bishop Oyedepo, Bishop Mike okonkwo, Pst Gbile Akani and other numerous fathers and Generals of the faith. Even if you don't agree with some of them in doctrine but you can't deny their contributions and impact on the growth of Christianity not just in Nigeria but the whole world at large. These men stood and defended the faith when it wasn't something to be admired to be identified with the faith, when the moment you say God has called you, your family members literally assume you are finished. These men stood to be counted when it mattered most. They yielded themselves to God and made sacrifices to defend and propagate the gospel.
Painfully, when we ought to be praying for them to finish strong so that they don't lose their eternal reward after a lifetime of service to God we end up judging them by their shortcomings. My Generation that can't even fast till 4pm will open their mouth and be condemning these men, people that can't even pray for an hour in their prime will open mouth in judgement against men who in their prime could pray for days nonestop.
Yes, some of them may not be operating in the dimension they use to be in their prime but that doesn't in any way implies lack of relevance or justifies stupid attacks on their legacy. Even Jesus told peter in John 21:18 "I am telling you the truth: when you were young, you used to get ready and go anywhere you wanted to; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will tie you up and take you where you don't want to go.” today, the reality of old age has come, now as good children and soldiers all we owe our generals and fathers in the lord is prayers and not judgement. They have played their part now we should be worried about playing ours. This generation is our responsibility and not theirs. No matter how anointed you are, you can't do everything.
