Inside Church
Episode One
Bro Chris is an usher in the church and a very committed member too. He has been a worker for two years and the things he see in the cause of carrying out his service in church is despicable.
After service on a certain Sunday, bro Chris sits down on a seat in the church premises, pondering over what just happened.
He was doing his work happily, ushering members to their respective seats in his church when a woman refused the seat he ushered her to sit.
"Please madam, we are following orders here. We have been asked to fill up the front seats before allowing anyone to sit at the back roll. Please bear with us.
Bro Chris explained with a smile.
"Who gave the order. Is this not the house of God? Why should people be told where to sit. We are supposed to sit anywhere we like. "
The woman fired back at bro Chris.
"No ma. If we do that, there will be no orderliness in the house of God and that would not be good. "
Bro Chris tried to explain things to the woman.
He was still talking to her when she sat on the very seat bro Chris told her not to sit on.
"You can't tell me where to sit. "
She muttered as she sat down.
Bro Chris moved closer to her and tried to carry her bag and politely usher her to the front roll. As he brought out his hand to touch the bag, the woman landed a hot slap on his face.
"Do you know who I am? How dare you try to touch my bag. Is it because you are a worker? "
The woman lashed out on him after giving him such a hot slap.
"Madam, did you just slap me? "
Bro Chris asked.
"Yes, and I will do it again if you try to touch my bag one more time. "
The woman said.
Bro Chris left angrily and went to report to his head of department instantly.
"There's nothing you can do, bro Chris. Just let it go, you know it is the work of God we are doing. Please don't take it to heart. "
His HOD said.
After much thought, bro Chris jerks back to consciousness.
"How can I be ridiculed in this way all because I am doing the work of God. Aren't members supposed to be God fearing too? "
Bro Chris says aloud.
After talking to himself for a few minutes, he gets up and walks towards the road where he will grab a keke and head home.
When he gets home and explains what transpired in church, his friends told him not to let it go. They told him to tell his head of department that he wasn't going to work anymore.
"Yes, guys. That's exactly what is on my mind. If a church can't discipline her members who misbehave, why then should they do so to a worker? "
Bro Chris asks his friends.
"Exactly our point. Everybody should be corrected in the house of God, not just the workers. But wait, did you say they did not caution the woman? "
His friends asked.
"For where. They did not even ask to see her not to talk of cautioning her. "
Bro Chris explains.
"Kai, this is so sad. Well, just commune with God first before taking your decision. "
His friends advice.
"Thanks so much guys.
Bro Chris says.
Bro Chris is the type of person who believes that everyone should be treated equally even in church irrespective of one's earthly possessions.
Getting slapped in church was one of the things he hasn't imagined would happen to him because he thought such things only happen outside the church.
That single act of that woman almost took him back to the world but he belted up and decided to continue working for his Heavenly Father.
To him, he must render more service to God than he did to the devil while he was in the world.

The next Sunday, bro Chris rises up very early and prepares for church. When he gets to church, he went to the altar and prays heartily.
Part of the prayer is that God should forgive him for almost turning back on Him because of a mare slap.
"Father Lord, please forgive me for almost turning back on your work because of a woman that wasn't trained well by her mother.
Help me Lord to serve you from my heart no matter what anyone does to me. Even if my head of department shouts at me, help me to bear it.
Thank you Lord for answering my prayers in Jesus name Amen."
Bro Chris says as he rounds off his prayer.
