TOPIC: The Power of a Solid Reputation
*TEXT:
"But if we say, 'Of human origin' all the people will stone us, because they are persuaded hat John was a prophet." (Luke 20:6)
When religious leaders tried to trap Jesus, they were stuck. They could not answer Jesus' question because the crowd firmly believed that John the Baptist was a true prophet. The people were completely persuaded about who John was, and nobody could change their minds.
This teaches us an important lesson about our own lives: What do people believe about you?
Many people live with unstable reputations, they are nice one day and dishonest the next. Because of this, nobody really knows what they stand for. Then, when hard times or false rumors come, nobody is willing to stand up and defend them.
