TIGMEIN REPRESENTED AT EFCC SCUML SENSITIZATION WORKSHOP IN GOMBE
The Tijjaniyya Grassroots and Empowerment Initiative of Nigeria (TIGMEIN), Gombe State Chapter, participated in the EFCC/SCUML Town Hall Sensitization Workshop on the Prevention of Terrorism Financing and Abuse of Non-Profit Organizations held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Gombe State.
Representing TIGMEIN at the important capacity-building programme was the Director of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment, Mallam Abdullateef Modibbo Tukur, who joined other stakeholders and representatives of Non-Profit Organizations from Gombe, Bauchi, and Adamawa States.
The workshop was organized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) through the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML) and took place at the GOFCECOM Hotel Innex Conference Hall, Gombe.
The sensitization focused on strengthening compliance among Non-Profit Organizations, especially on issues relating to transparency, accountability, prevention of terrorism financing, and adherence to SCUML reporting obligations under Nigeria’s Anti-Money Laundering framework.
Officials of the EFCC emphasized the need for organizations to operate within the law and remain proactive in safeguarding their institutions from abuse, while participants were encouraged to extend the knowledge gained to their various organizations and communities.
TIGMEIN Gombe State Chapter appreciates the EFCC and SCUML for organizing the impactful engagement and remains committed to promoting lawful, transparent, and community-driven initiatives for sustainable development.
