St. Michael's Lent is a 40-day period of prayer and penance observed in the Catholic Church, beginning on August 15th (the Feast of the Assumption) and ending on September 29th (the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel). It's a time of spiritual renewal, drawing inspiration from St. Francis of Assisi's devotion to St. Michael and his practice of fasting and prayer during this time.
