Paul and Barnabas argued and discussed this with them at length, and finally the believers sent them to Jerusalem, accompanied by some local men, to talk to the apostles and elders there about this question.

In the days of the Apostles, there were divergent views on various aspects of believers work with God. This particular case was about circumcision. The Corinthian church had denominations, St Cephas's assembly, brother Paul ministries, Just Jesus only ministries and so on, they were born out of variation of opinions and subtle believe in supremacy.

If it happened then, why do you think it wont happen now?

Paul told us about what is foundational doctrine, as long as there is alignment on these things, we are good to go because we are brethren.

Hebrews 6:1-2 AMP
Therefore let us get past the elementary stage in the teachings about the Christ, advancing on to maturity and perfection and spiritual completeness, [doing this] without laying again a FOUNDATION of
1) repentance from dead works
2) of faith toward God,
3) of teaching about washings [baptism] (ritual purifications),
4) the laying on of hands,
5) the resurrection of the dead, and
6) eternal judgment.

[These are all important matters in which you should have been proficient long ago.]

Devotion, Fear of God, Alms giving, Praying and seeing Visions of Angels aren’t equal to salvation

‭‭Acts‬ ‭10‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always. About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, Lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. He will tell you what you must do.””

Cornelius was a good man by all standard, he was devoted, he feared God with his household, he helped the poor with alms, he prayed and even saw visions, yet all these good works didn’t translate to salvation. Salvation is in Christ and it comes through the hearing and believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, you shall be saved.

‭‭Rom 10‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 NKJV

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures

When we say Jesus is the only way to God the Father, some think that we are religion intolerant, not knowing that we don’t even do religion, we only echo what Jesus said. His word is either the truth or Jesus was a liar. Glory be to God, Jesus’ words have proven reliable—prophetically and spiritually, His consistency is part of why we are confident and assured of His eternal promises. What He said in the past have never failed, and what He is saying today is still coming to pass. He is alive and He cares about you.

The Grace For Salvation Has Appeared To All Men To Change Them, Not To Leave Them The Same

Titus 2:11-15 NKJV
[11] For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, [12] teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, [13] looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, [14] who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. [15] Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

The grace for salvation has appeared unto all men irrespective of their status, manner of life, race, political affiliation, family pedigree, academic qualifications,moral standing, and so on.

The appearance has a singular purpose, and it is for them to renouce ungodliness and worldly lust, and start a new life of living righteously unto God.

If your version of the gospel is not pulling you out of the sinful life, something is wrong. Jesus said to the disciples, you are cleansed by the word I spoke to you. When you hear the word of Jesus, it cleans you up.

He loves sinners and rescues them to a higher life of holiness, He never leaves them in their sins.

The Word Alignment Births Life Alignment

John 12:50 TPT
And I know that the Father’s commands result in eternal life, and that’s why I speak the very words I’ve heard him speak.”

Your world cannot be better aligned with God's counsel for you than the alignment of your word with God's word.

Jesus spoke what the Father had told Him. So what are you speaking, God's word of faith or the circumstance word of fear?

8. Intimacy thrives on knowing and following God’s will. Jonah could not go further with God than his obedience allowed. He later concluded that those who cling to lying vanities forsake their own mercy. Not knowing or not following God’s will can lead to unnecessary hardships that damage intimacy. When God is with you, the fire becomes an air conditioner, the lion becomes a pillow, and the tomb becomes a pathway to resurrection. But without God, even a trip in a comfortable ship can end up in the belly of a fish, and random arrows can find their target in man operating outside God’s will (1 Kg 22:34 ISV - Meanwhile, somebody drew his bow aimlessly and struck the king).

9. Intimacy requires labour. The fire on the altar was required to be kept burning, there were priests that laboured running shifts to make this happen, Lev 6:12-13. To stay and grow in intimacy with God, we must labour consistently:

a. Labour in the Word (1 Timothy 5:17; Joshua 1:8).
b. Labour in prayer (Colossians 4:12).
c. Labour to show love and share in love (Hebrews 6:10; 2 Thessalonians 3:13).
d. Labour to enter into rest, intimacy is dead without rest (Hebrews 4:11).
e. Labour in obedience (Hebrews 5:8)—there is no intimacy in disobedience.
f. Labour in God’s purpose (1 Corinthians 15:58).
g. Labour to develop godly character (2 Peter 1:5–8).

10. Intimacy requires intentional planning. God instructed Joshua to meditate on the word day and night. Jesus regularly prayed very early in the morning. David was structured, he praised God seven times daily and prayed three times a day. If you do not plan for intimacy, you are unlikely to experience it consistently or sustain it habitually.

Conclusion
Intimacy with God is the sustaining force of spiritual fire, it is cultivated through personal relationship, nurtured in love and obedience, strengthened by consistency and sustained by intentional devotion. Each believer must know God personally through daily fellowship, not through inheritance, tradition, or association, though these are good as addition.
