LAST KNOCK

All through history, God has been reaching out to mankind with love, mercy, and a call to repentance. From the prophets of old to the preaching of the gospel today, His voice continues to echo: “Come unto Me.” Yet, the Bible reveals that there will come a time when God’s knocking will cease — a moment when the opportunity to respond will be gone forever. This is what we call the last knock — the final call of grace before the door of mercy closes.
1. Jesus Is Still Knocking
The Lord Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”— Rev. 3:20

This was not spoken to unbelievers, but to the lukewarm church of Laodicea — a church that had become complacent, proud, and spiritually blind. Jesus was outside, knocking on the very door of His own church!
His knock represents His patient love, His call to repentance, and His desire for restored fellowship. But His knocking will not continue forever. One day, the last knock will sound — and those who refuse to open will be left behind.
2. The Door Will Not Stay Open Forever
Jesus told the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1–13. Five were wise and five were foolish. The wise were ready, but the foolish delayed until it was too late. “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.” — Mat. 25:10
The shut door symbolizes the end of grace — the moment when the last knock has sounded. Many will cry out, “Lord, Lord, open to us!” but will hear the dreadful words, “I know you not.” (Mat. 25:11–12)
3. Noah’s Generation Ignored the Knock
In the days of Noah, God’s mercy was extended for 120 years while Noah preached righteousness (Gen. 6:3; 2 Pet. 2:5). The people heard the message, but they mocked and refused to repent. Then one day, “They that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.” — Gen. 7:16
When the door of the ark was closed, the knocking stopped. The rain began to fall. Judgment came suddenly — and all who had ignored God’s warning perished. This is a picture of what will happen when Christ returns: the door of grace will close, and no one will be able to enter in afterward (Luke 17:26–30).
4. The Holy Spirit’s Final Appeal
The Holy Spirit is the One who speaks to our hearts and convicts us of sin. But the Lord warned, “My Spirit shall not always strive with man.”— Gen. 6:3
Every time we resist the prompting of the Holy Spirit, our hearts grow harder. If we continue to reject Him, there will come a day when His voice will no longer be heard — that will be the last knock.
The Bible says, “Today, if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”— Heb. 3:15
The last knock may come through a sermon, a song, a warning, or even a personal trial. It may come quietly, yet eternally significant — the final opportunity to repent and believe.
5. When the Last Knock Sounds
When Jesus returns, the age of grace will end. The door will be shut forever. The apostle Paul warns: “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”— 1 Thess. 5:2
This is why Jesus said, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”— Mat. 24:44
The last knock could come at any moment — for a person, a family, or even a whole generation. That is why it is dangerous to delay salvation or repentance.

Conclusion: Open While There’s Still Time
The last knock is not a message of doom, but of mercy. It is God’s loving warning that the time of grace is running out. The Savior still stands at the door, knocking — patiently calling you to open your heart and let Him in.
“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.”— Is. 55:6

If you hear His voice today, don’t harden your heart. Open the door now. Tomorrow may be too late — for the last knock may already be at your door.

Jesus Christ loves you ... There is no other name that man can be saved except the name of Christ Jesus.

WORD FOR TODAY

I HAVE MADE YOU FATHER OF MANY NATIONS
TEXT: “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” – Romans 4:17 (KJV)

This declaration was spoken by God to Abraham, a man who, by human reasoning, was beyond the natural capacity to father a child. Yet, God spoke of him in the past tense, “I have made thee”, even before the promise was physically fulfilled. This shows that when God speaks, His word carries the authority of completion. What He declares is not a mere possibility; it is a divine certainty awaiting manifestation in time.

God’s statement to Abraham reveals the creative power of His word. He “calleth those things which be not as though they were.” To humanity, the promise was future; but to God, it was already done. Faith, therefore, bridges the gap between the spoken word and the visible reality. Abraham’s faith did not rest on evidence but on the credibility of the One who spoke.

When Abraham believed God, he was justified by faith and became the father of all who would later believe in God through Jesus Christ. His life shows us that divine promises do not depend on human ability but on divine reliability. What matters most is our willingness to trust and obey even when the circumstances seem impossible.

PRACTICAL BIBLE EXAMPLES
1. Abraham’s Faith in Action: Though old and childless, Abraham believed God’s word. His faith was tested when God asked him to offer Isaac, the son of promise. Yet, he reasoned that God was able to raise him from the dead if necessary (Hebrews 11:17–19). That unwavering trust made him the father of nations indeed.

2. Mary the Mother of Jesus: When the angel told her she would conceive by the Holy Ghost, she believed, saying, “Be it unto me according to thy word.” Her faith gave birth to the Saviour of the world. She became the instrument through which God’s divine plan manifested in the flesh.

3. The Church through Jesus Christ: Through faith in Jesus Christ, believers have become spiritual children of Abraham. The promise continues to live in us today, for we are called to walk in the same faith that sees beyond the natural and believes the supernatural word of God.

LIFE APPLICATION
When God speaks concerning your destiny, do not look at your limitations. He does not consult your background before declaring your future. Like Abraham, your situation might look barren, but God’s word brings life to what appears dead. Your part is to believe and act in obedience.

You may not yet see the nations, the children, the business, or the ministry, but if God has spoken, hold on in faith. Begin to walk, talk, and live as though it is already done. The promise of God is sure, and His timing is perfect.

LET US PRAY:
Jehovah, we thank Thee for Thy eternal word that never fails. We bless Thee for the faith of our father Abraham, who trusted Thee against hope and saw Thy promises fulfilled. Strengthen our faith, O Lord, to believe Thee even when our situations seem barren. Help us to walk in obedience, trusting Thy divine timing.

May the power of the Holy Spirit quicken every dead promise in our lives. Let Thy word find full expression in us, and may we, like Abraham, become channels of blessing to many nations. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

MATTHEW 18:1-6

Golden Verse

“And said, Truly I say to you, Unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.” V. 3

Message

From the hands of God to the womb of our mothers, we were all born with the wills and ways of God. Unfortunately, as we grow older, we grow distant from the wills and ways of God and grow closer to that of the world. To be like a child is to be fearless, dependent on our parent, to hold no grudge, to love without restrictions. As we grow older and begin to experience pain, rejection, betrayal, sickness, disappointment, etc, we begin to lose touch with how God created us, and slowly begin to conform to the ways of the world.

According to today’s text, we need to be like children to see the kingdom of God, but some do not understand what it means to be like a child. Can you remember when you were young and didn’t care about what you were going to eat, but trusted your parent completely to provide the meals of the day? Can you remember that little child that told you bluntly that you had a mouth odour without particularly thinking you are less of a person? Can you remember how big your dreams and ambitions were when you were a little child?

When Christ said we have to be like children to see the kingdom of God, He was telling us to learn to trust God completely to provide for all our needs; to love everyone genuinely without holding their flaws or weaknesses against them; to say what is on our mind without holding grudges towards our neighbours; to dream without limits, knowing fully well that Christ has our backs.

Prayer Point: Heavenly Father, let the Holy Spirit in me teach me to be more like a child every day, that I may enter into your kingdom at the end of time, in Jesus name. Amen.

Food for thought: “Truly I say unto you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” Mark 10:15
