LAGOS NIGERIA FESTAC STAKE HOLDS STAKE CONFERENCE

The Lagos Nigeria Festac Stake held its Stake Conference yesterday, presided over by Elder Michel Djimedo Aveyon, Area Seventy. It was a day of faith, inspiration, and spiritual renewal as members gathered to worship and be edified.

Stake President Ugochukwu Nwaelele encouraged members to build their faith on the solid rock of Jesus Christ.

Representing the rising generation, Onyekachi Nwaelele spoke on the importance of prayer and its power in strengthening our relationship with God.

Sister Daubrifade Stephine shared an inspiring message on being different and maintaining moral courage in a confusing world.

Brother Ikechi Chijindu Ugochukwu gave a wonderful teaching on how we can Love, Share, and Invite as a way to become a light to others.

President and Sister Senanu of the Nigeria Lagos Mission encouraged Festac Stake members to focus on Jesus Christ, even when the world around us is troubled. The Area Seventy admonished members to embrace peacemaking and become instruments of peace in their families, communities, and the world.

The choir blessed us with beautiful and inspiring music throughout the service. Dressed in their beautiful attire, they sang praises and reminded us of the Savior through their music.

The conference concluded with remarks from the presiding authority, Elder Michel Djimedo Aveyon, who reminded us to be peacemakers, to strive to be humble in all aspects of our lives, and to love and care for our families and one another. He extended his love and shared his testimony of the Savior's love for us.

A day of faith. A day of peace. A day centered on Jesus Christ.

The Festac Sunday Session of the Annual Stake Conference September 27th 2026

27/09/2026

The Saturday session of the Lagos Nigeria Festac Stake Annual Conference held on the 26th and 27th of September 2026.

Elder Michel Djimedo Aveyon, Area seventy presided over this year's conference.

We learnt new ways on how to be our brothers keeper and love the Lord and to embrace daily repentance so as to build a Christlike attribute thereby having the desire and ability to serve and love just as the Saviour did.
Elder Michel Aveyon reminded us on how to be active with our ministry and also showed us simple ways to check on our brothers and sisters that will make them feel loved and seen.

We were invited to send a message to someone who we've not seen in church for a while, telling them we miss them and we will love to see them in the Sunday conferences.

We learn to act and not just say.
Love for one another goes way more than just saying we love you, it is in the act and services we show to everyone around us, caring for the welfare of our ministry brothers and sisters.

Wonderful proselyting with the missionaries and YSA alongside the bishop of Oko-Afor Ward in taking the gospel from door to door and inviting families to come hear, come see and come stay...

D&C 33: 8-10

Open your mouths and they shall be filled, and you shall become even as Nephi of old, who journeyed from Jerusalem in the wilderness.
Yea, open your mouths and spare not, and you shall be laden with sheaves upon your backs, for lo, I am with you.
Yea, open your mouths and they shall be filled, saying: Repent, repent, and prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand;

Yesterday was a great day at the Festac YSA Gathering Place, as students showcase what they have been learning for months during their graduation.

Their beautiful graduating gowns, smiles on their faces and enough to eat and drink.

Bishops and and First Councillor in the Stake Presidency tested each meal and snacks made by the students.

They made every refreshment themselves proving that Education is key to Success...
And education doesn't only mean the four walls of an institution.

Rather it means learning everything we could so as not to be illiterate to ourselves, our families, the church and community at large.

Skills that these graduating students learnt these past few months are;

Computer literacy
Catering and Cooking
Photography
Barbering
