St. Jude’s society University of Nigeria is a pious organizations in both St. Peter’s chaplaincy University of Nigeria, Nsukka and St Mulumba University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (catholic church) under Nigeria Federation of Catholic Student (NFCS). it has gone far in gaining popularity outside the walls of the chaplaincies; for instance: In the department of Economics, almost 90% of the students both Catholics and non Catholics know the existence “St. Jude’s society”.
St. Jude Thaddeus was an apostle of Jesus Christ and also a cousin to the saviour. He was present during the Pentecost and got his on tongue of fire -as we can see in this status. When everybody wanted Jesus to be only with him/her, St.Jude Thaddeus was interested in others by telling Jesus “show yourself to the whole world and not only to us” this is a selfless service and interest. Jesus imprinted his image (face) to him (as we can also see in the status) to cure the king of Edesa “king Abago” of his leprosy, for the king was in a very state of helplessness and Jesus seeing among his apostle that Jude Thaddeus was the most helpful sent him to go and cure him).
The miracles of St. Jude cannot be over emphasized, the little amazing one was the one testified by Bro Unaeze Godson who called upon St. Jude -the helper in desperate cases, when it was about 3hours to shut down federal university of technology Owerri (FUTO) post-UTME registration’s website, at that end time, the website refused to be accessed in all the nearby cyber cafes in Umuhia, Abia State. With his faith boiling at more than 100oc went to St. Jude’s status and prayed, came back and instructed the computer operator to register his form but the operator laughed and told him “network is not going, these crowd have been waiting since morning” but the young man stood his ground and told him again that St. Jude will do something, just take the form, the operator took his form (while people were interestingly watching them) and logged into the website and behold it opened and was accessed, it happened that only that particular system was accessing the website among lots of internet accessing systems there in that cyber café and of course no nearby cyber could access the website. Some (Catholics and non Catholics) were shouting;
“St. Jude! St. Jude!! St. Jude!!! while others were replying Pray for us! Pray for us!! Pray for us!!! One of the ladies came to him and asked him to tell St. Jude to make her the president of Nigeria now. And at this juncture we sing with one voice:
Oru oma St.Jude n’ aga na iru (x2)
Odighi onye obula buru egbochiya (x2)
Oru oma St.Jude n’ aga na iru.
