POSITIONING YOURSELF FOR MARVELOUS HELP [PART 1]

BIBLE TEXT: LUKE 10:30-36:

There is no controversy, no argument, no doubts whatsoever that God helps. God helps and God helps exceptionally. You need to walk with the revelation that our God is a Helper. When you have some needs, people will run away from you but that is where God is different, in those kinds of situation, God will run towards you. The question is then that if God truly helps, why is it that His help is not so obvious in our life? The truth is that you need to learn and understand how to position yourself for the help of God. This is because the help of God is available to all but not all can access it. There are things you can do that shuts down the help of God and there are things you can do that will open you to the help of God.

If you are going to activate the help of God, the first thing you must realize is that if you cannot trust completely and absolutely in God, you cannot enjoy His help to the fullest. It takes trust to access the help of God. Psalm 125:1– Those who trust in the LORD Are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever. Anytime you are trusting in another source, it shows you can no longer rely on God that is why the word of God says we cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24– No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Once you serve one, you shut down the other. This means your trust in God has to be absolute, it has to be your only recourse. God cannot be combined with anything or anyone. Touch your heart and say to yourself right now that, ‘God is enough’.

You know why you are not seeing enough of God? Because God is One of your options, God is One of your choices. It is either God or nothing else. It is either He is Lord of all, or He is not Lord at all. We have too many unbelieving Believers in Church today and you know how we know, what you do when you are under pressure. Genesis 12:10–Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there, for the famine was severe in the land. ‘Going down’ as in this context means taking a temporary decision with permanent consequence because of a permanent situation. Please note, that when you see going down to Babylon/Jericho/Egypt in the Bible, it is not referring to an actual location, rather it means the world system. Romans 12:2– And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. There is a way we do things in the Kingdom and there is a way the world does its own. If you practice worldly principle, you will get worldly results and if you practice Godly principles, you will get Godly results. Christians today want to practice worldly principles and get Godly results. But it does not work like that. Tell yourself, ‘trusting God pays’. It may not pay that day or as quickly as you want but it pays. Psalms 37:25– I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. If God does not help you, your class, your background, your knowledge cannot help you.

People of God, if you are trusting God, trust Him completely. He said lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. The Bible says, for we walk by faith and not by sight–2 Corinthians 5:7. When you walk by a thing, it means you depend on it to walk, that is how you should depend on God on daily basis. And when you are trusting God, your focus cannot be on only the immediate. Why is it that God is always your last resort when you run into trouble? Why is it that you run to God when all other options have failed? This is why you are not experiencing the help of God as you should.
The second thing you need to note is that outside the help of God, your protection is not guaranteed. There is nobody that does not need the help of God, because the help of God is beyond money and material things, it is everything and more. Without the help of God, man becomes a prey. Nothing makes you a victim as being outside the help of God. Outside God’s Shadow, outside God’s Presence, you are vulnerable. And if there is any time you need to be careful of the steps you are taking, it is the time we are living in right now.

Remain blessed!

A MAN MARVELOUSLY HELPED BY GOD (2)

Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I AM with thee: be not dismayed; for I AM thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” 2 Chronicles 26:15, “And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong.”

Psalms 118:23, “This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.”

Nobody is self-sufficient without relying on Divine support system of God. We all need different dimension of helps within different capacity on daily basis without which life will be so hard. *Isaiah 41:10* reminds us of promises God has made which can give and reiterate the confidence that we do not need to fear: “I AM with you”, “I AM your God”, “I will help you, I will strengthen you”, “I will uphold you with My righteous Right Hand. These are words which inspire confidence and faith in the Mighty God whom we serve. They are promises which will equip us for any battle or difficult storm. These promises were first delivered to God’s people, Israel, and now we too are the beneficiaries of these promises.

I WILL HELP YOU:

God is so intentional and committed to His word and promises. So we do not think that God equips us for battle and just sends us out alone, the next part of the promise is very important “I will help you.” God doesn’t just make us courageous, sends us in for a battle with everything we need, and then just watches us. He is with us, and He provides us with His Divine help. This requires faith. God helps us at our point of need. When we need His help, He will be there. We need His strength to face up to the battle, but then we also need to trust that He will be there and give us the Divine help we need right when we need it.

God promised to be with Moses, Joshua, and David etc. and in spite their overwhelming confrontations He kept His promises. We too need to walk by faith. And when we are stuck, it is to the Lord to whom we must look. He is the One who helps us, because He is with us wherever we are.

Remain blessed!

MARVELOUSLY HELPED BY GOD (3)

2 Chronicles 26:15:

“And his fame spread far, for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong.” During his fifty-two year reign in Jerusalem, King Uzziah built towers, dug many wells, organized a large army, conquered surrounding nations, and made devices for the defense of the city. Uzziah was a remarkable king who had a broad interest in the improvement of his kingdom and because of his many achievements, his fame spread among other nations. For all his accomplishments he became strong because he was marvelously helped by God.

Unfortunately, Uzziah began to trust in his own strength forgetting that it was the marvelous help of God that brought him prosperity and success. Uzziah transgressed against the Lord by entering the temple to burn incense on the altar, a ceremony of religious worship that was performed by a priest. It seemed that Uzziah was not content with the authority God had given him as king and apparently wanted to add priestly functions to his royal power.

You also, have been marvelously helped by God. In fact, the “marvelous help of God” is a fitting description of the enabling Power of the Holy Spirit that is at work in your life: “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you Another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth…for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:16-17). The Holy Spirit will marvelously help you and make you strong in the Lord; but remember where your strength comes from and give God the glory because pride is always lurking behind any success that you may achieve through God’s help.

Remain blessed!

MARVELOUSLY HELPED BY GOD (2)

“In Jerusalem he made machines invented by skillful men to be on the towers and the [corner] bulwarks, with which to shoot arrows and great stones. And his fame spread far, for he was marvellously helped till he was strong.” 2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:15‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The above scripture refers to Uzziah, a king of Judah who, at a very young age of sixteen years, was unexpectedly crowned king due to the assassination of his father, king Amaziah.

He ascended the throne of Judah in very uncertain times as his country had suffered defeat in battle many years before and to the dismay of the people, his father had turned away from God to idol worship.

Uzziah did the right thing after he was crowned, by making a firm decision to follow the Lord wholeheartedly. As long as he served the Lord, God made him to prosper and he was marvellously helped until he became very great.

It is possible that you can relate with the above story. You may have found yourself in the spotlight or have been thrust into positions of high responsibility without adequate preparation. Although people around you are singing your praises and urging you on, you know deep in your heart how fearful you feel and how much you dread the thought of failure.

Cheer up because someone great and mighty has got your back! He is called the Holy Spirit. He is the One that proceeds from God the Father and the Son, and has been sent to accompany you through life.

The Holy Spirit will strengthen you with might in your heart, make you super-intelligent with wisdom, knowledge and understanding, and give you the right word in season so that you will know what to answer when you’re put to the test.

He believes in your success and He will help you all the way until you become a force to be reckoned with.

Be strong in the Lord today and make your mark on the earth by the Power of the Spirit in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ!

A MAN MARVELOUSLY HELPED BY GOD

Many years ago, a man decided to spend some time remembering some things he had been told. He wrote down some of those words for posterity. Among his writings, one has stood out for me. "I have laid help upon one that is mighty".

This man was a great man. He was rich, powerful, influential, and had the loyalty of good men. But he didn’t begin like that though. He began as a normal obscure young guy in a small village somewhere. He was so obscure that as a teenager, even his father used to forget about him. One time a visitor came to visit the family and his dad forgot about him when introducing the family.

Fast forward thirty years later, this man had become the richest, strongest, and most influential in the world. I wondered what caused that drastic change until I saw the writings he had put down. In studying these writings, I found what caused that change.

In simple terms, that change was triggered by one word, HELP. When this man was a teenager, the first son of the president of his country decided to become his best friend. That was the first level of help that saved his life more than once and gave him a certain level of influence.

When the president decided to hunt this young man down, something peculiar happened. As this young man ran for his life from the most powerful man in his country, people began to look for him to join him. They offered him their loyalty and strength even though he was the number one fugitive in the country.

The help they offered him helped him outlast the President, and somehow, he became the new president. He didn’t attack or harm the old president, but people just turned toward him when the president died.

When he became the president, his men were intensely loyal to him. One day, when he was at a war front, he just thought aloud that he would like water from a certain well. The only problem was the well was behind enemy lines. Three of his men fought through the enemy blockade just to get a jar of water for him. Now that’s some next-level loyalty.

These different manifestations of help came from the words spoken to him. "I have laid help upon one that is mighty". The next words he wrote down showed how this help came about every time. "With My holy oil, I have anointed him".

This man was David, a great man in the ancient days. Because of the anointing of God on his life, and the words God had spoken to him, help always found him when he was in need. As a teenager and as a mighty king, he ALWAYS had help when he needed it.

The anointing David received has been refined, and is a thousand times more potent today than it was then. That anointing is found in the blood of Jesus. When Jesus died for our sins and rose again, He became our Source of eternal help, ever ready to dispense it whenever we need it.

We all need help, and there is an eternal Source of it just waiting for you to come over. His Name is Jesus, and He really wants to help you. All you have to do is accept Him. To accept Him, just believe in the fact that He came to earth, died for you, and is risen and waiting for you to accept Him.

So what are you still waiting for? Come on over, help is waiting for you today!

Remain blessed!

MARVELOUSLY HELPED BY GOD (1)

BIBLE TEXT: Revelation 12: 3-6, 13-16

Memory Verse: “But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent” (Revelation 12:14)

We see a raging battle between darkness and light. Satan’s raging hatred for the woman (Isreal or the Church) and her Child (Christ) and his persistent effort to attack and destroy them. “The dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born” (Revelation 12:4b). However, the woman was marvellously helped by God, who gave her wings to fly into the wilderness for safety to be nourished for a season.

This is reminiscent of David’s experience when king Saul was desperately after him to terminate his life by all means. God marvellously preserved David in the wilderness (1 Samuel 23:14-29). The same raging battle goes on today. As Believers, we are regularly confronted by evil and persecuted. The adversary, in line with his mission, constantly seeks to steal, kill and destroy us but, each time, we are marvellously helped by the Lord Jesus, who is faithfully committed to His mission to give us life more abundantly. By His Spirit, He raises a standard against the enemy.

The Believers’ victory is assured both here on earth and in eternity, if we keep faith with our Saviour, Jesus Christ, who through His death and resurrection has served satan a clean, complete and eternal defeat (Colossians 2:15). It does not matter how hard the devil tries to pummel you; do not fret. The God, who has at different times and ways, marvellously helped you, will continue to do so in Jesus Mighty Name.

TODAY'S PRAYERS:

1. Thank You, Lord, for being my marvellous Help when the enemy rises against me in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

2. Father in the Name of Jesus Christ, grant me grace to always abide in You that Your help may avail me till the end of my days on earth in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ i pray, amen🙏🏾.

HOW GOD HELP MEN (I)

When God wants to help a man, He shortens the distance between that man and access to light. Dominion in this Kingdom is by light. Grace is built on revelation. What did you know about your calling, destiny, purpose, finances, relationship ?

Something must be Powering your moving forward and that thing is light. Light are words but it’s not every word or information that can change your life, it’s the word sent to you. Contend for the sent word.

When God wants to help a man, he shortens the distance between that man and access to valuable men who are helpers. Not everybody is your helper. Expecting help from everybody is the key to frustration. Your helpers know they are sent to you. Who has been sent to help you will not stress you.

You are helped by God to the degree valuable men contribute to your life. Because helpers are stubborn and sometimes acts slow to respond, that’s why you need to pray consistently for helpers. Pray that God should send men who will fuel your joy and passion.

When God wants to help a man, He help the man by His Spirit. The Holy Spirit is an Advantage, an Helper indeed. One with the Holy Spirit is majority. The Holy Spirit can make you be in the right place at the right time. He can give you inner strength to overcome pressure. He can give you an idea that will bring breakthrough.

Know how God provide because not all provisions are money. Some provisions are wisdom, favour, access, strength, good health, hope, peace, good family, faithful men, supply of the Spirit. So the next time, you are praying for help. Know how God help men. By His word, by His Spirit and men.

TODAY'S PRAYER:

Lord send me my word today, give me the gift of men and release your Spirit upon me I pray in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ🙏🏾.

SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF THOSE THAT WERE DIVINELY HELPED

King Uzziah was greatly helped. 2 Chronicles 26:14-15
Daniel was helped by angel Michael against prince of Persia that withstood and hijacked
the answers to his prayers. Daniel 10:13
The widow of Zarapheth was greatly helped in famine. 1 Kings 17:12-16

Men of Jabesh were unexpectedly helped. 1 Samuel 11:1-11
Jehoshaphat was helped. 2 Chronicles 20
Hagar and her son Ismeal were helped. Genesis 21:17

What God’s Help Could Do:

God’s help open the door and attract helpers: God's help provoke other people to help you. 1 Chronicles
12:16-18
God’s help is an invitation of favour and acceptance. This spirit of favour will make everyone run around you to help you. 1 Chronicles 12:21-22 Gods help prevent accidents: When help is in place preservation is sure. (Psalm 121)
God's help is an antidote to pain and reproach. 1 Chronicles 4:10
God's help leads to victory. 1 Chronicles 5:20

Enemies To God’s Help:

PRIDE:
2 Chronicles 26:15-19 (king Uzziah succeeded admirably but his success seduced him into
pride; his pride led to a sin that in a few moments nullified many years of achievement). Though he reigned for 52 years and had many outstanding accomplishments, he was remembered by the sad epitaph, “He is a leper”. King Uzziah’s success is described in 2 Chronicles 26:1-15 and his downfall in 2 Chronicles 26:16-23.

(a) Success is a great good if it comes from the Lord and is used for the Lord and His purposes.

(b) His success was out of his heart for God and had a fatherly mentor in Prophet Zachariah who helped direct him in godliness and wisdom. (2 Chronicles 26:5)

(c) He followed Solomon's counsel (Proverbs 3:5-6). It means Uzziah consulted God (Isaiah
8:19; Psalm 1:1-3).

As a result he has far reaching vision, whose accomplishment included both domestic and foreign projects. He built modern day Eilat. A port and resort town at the southern tip of Isreal. He subdued a number of Philistines cities and built Isreali citiies in their region (2 Chronicles 26:6).
He conqured Arabians and Meunites (to the south), and Ammonites to the East and they
were paying him tributes (2 Chronicles 26:7-8).

Uzziah also fortified Jerusalem , restoring the defence against the northern kingdom which his father has laid it's foundation (2 Chronicles 26:9).
He built towers for the defence of his vast agricultural and livestock holdings in the outlying
countryside (2 Chronicles 26:10). He was an early Ecologist.
He developed a strong army which could wage war with great power (vs 13). In addition to
the traditional weapons Uzziah installed. Also, Uzziah developed a strong army which “could wage war with great power” (26:13). In
addition to the traditional weapons (26:14), Uzziah installed the latest military hardware in Jerusalem–great catapults and arrow-shooting devices (26:15). As a result, we read
twice (26:8, 15) of his widespread fame.

Fame is simply an opportunity to tell more people of the greatness of God, so that His name is exalted. It also provides the opening to do more for the Lord’s work and for His people, to see them established in His ways. “Don’t confuse fame with success. Madonna is famous for example; Helen Keller is successful.” So we ought to view any measure of success God gives us as a trust to be managed for His glory and for His Kingdom.

Sharing God’s Glory:

Acts 12:20-23 –King herod was a pompous and proud politician, he was also a dynamic public speaker, a great orator like some of our politicians and men and women of God today. Read 2 Thessalonians 2:4 and Matthew 23:12; His pride ended in a worm of pride reward (Acts 12:23; Isaiah 14:10-12; Ezekiel 28:2-9)

Disobedience To God's Law And Withholding His Testimony

Psalm 78:9-11 (forgetting what
God has done by removing the testimony from our lips causes us to become fearful in the
day of battle. Hedonism is the pursuit of pleasure; sensual desires and self-indulgence. It is the ethical and psychological belief that pleasure and happiness are the highest good and ultimate goal in life. It asserts that the pursuit of enjoyment and the avoidance of pain should dictate human behaviour and moral choices. Jeshurun did exactly that. Jeshurun waxed fat and covered with fatness; then he forsook God.

The story of the Children of Ephraim is tragic because they were equipped to win. Note; a profound part of Jewish culture is to keep the testimony of the Lord God (Exodus 15:26). The testimony of God creates appetite for more of the activities of God and also prophesy to others that God is about to repeat same testimony in their lives because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. May you receive your own testimony today by also becoming a candidate of God's supernatural, miraculous and humongous help today in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

THE HELP OF GOD IS INEVITABLE IN OUR LIVES II

Needing help has always been part of God’s design for us.
Sometimes we avoid asking for help out of fear that it admits failure. We think, I should be able to handle this on my own; I’m supposed to succeed. I just need to push through.

But the truth is that God created us with a need for help. Asking for help isn’t admitting failure, but recognizing the way God made us. Even before the fall, in Garden of Eden, God created Adam to receive provision and help rather than be self-sufficient. On a material level, God provided all of Adam’s food, water, even his breath. He provided fellowship for Adam through His Own Presence.

But God also created Adam with a need for help from another person. He created Eve with this purpose in mind: “It is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him” (Genesis 2:18).

God said that His Own Creation was not complete until He had built in a way for people to give and receive help – even before sin came into the world, it has been God’s design for us to need help and give help to each other.

This means our need for help is not shameful or equal to failure. God built into us a need for help from the very beginning – and then He immediately began fulfilling that need.

Asking for help is a blessing to others.
Sometimes we avoid asking for help out of fear that it will be a burden to others. We think, I don’t want to drag someone else down with my pain. It’s not fair for me to ask someone else to carry this weight. This thinking also forgets the way God has created us as a body of Believers.

God wants us to help each other in times of struggle and sin. Scripture commands it: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). When you ask someone else to help you bear a burden, you are giving them an opportunity to serve God and share Christ’s love with you.

We also see throughout Scripture that God has created each of us in the body of Christ with different strengths, calling to use these strengths fully to glorify Him and build up others. When you find you are weak in one area and call on someone else who is strong for help, you are giving them an opportunity to exercise their God-given gifts.

God designed the body of Believers to work together and help one another – not to function as isolated individuals. By asking for help, we are honoring God’s purpose in gifting us differently and honoring each other by encouraging the use of these gifts – and this is far from placing an unfair burden on someone else.

Asking for help acknowledges the truth of our need and God’s grace. Even though asking for help doesn’t automatically equate to failure, the fact is that we do fail, and we are weak. We are needy. Though it can be painful for us to acknowledge, God never shames us for admitting this truth. God’s desire in Scripture is that we would cry out to Him and turn to Him. He invites us to find our sufficiency in Him.

Sometimes gently, sometimes forcefully, He reveals to us that we are not able to meet our own needs but that He desires to fill us with His Own provision and grace where we are weak. (“I won’t admit my weakness, won’t ask for help,” sounds closer to rebellion than it does to submission, doesn’t it?) As He said to Paul in a time of weakness and struggle, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My Power is made perfect in weakness.”

I sometimes tell myself the lie that God isn’t that interested, or is even a little annoyed with me. Surely it must be draining to see my failures and then to hear me ask for help over and over again. But look at the way God represents Himself in Scripture:

He is our Father, raising us as Children, feeding us, and providing for our every need. He is our husband, providing loving care and overflowing with affection for us.
He is our deliverer, saving us from sin and destruction.
He is our hiding place, our strong tower, our refuge, our good shepherd, our Savior.
In all of these ways, God longs to meet our needs. It’s simply not possible that God intends for us to “push through” without calling on His grace and compassion.

Ask For Help!

God’s plan for us in times of need is so clear, it’s laughable that we try to isolate and care for our own needs. We are weak and needy, but God is strong and desires to help us. Doesn’t that ring of the Gospel? Isn’t that true through the whole narrative of Scripture?

We are weak, rebelling in our independence, unable to survive alone, but God is strong and desiring to cover us with His grace and help. He gives us His Own compassion and provides a body of Believers, gifted to care for each other. We don’t have to give in to the isolation and thought swirl and heavy burdens. What a relief!

Take Freedom In This: God has designed us to need help, and we honor Him in asking for it.

Remain Blessed!

May God help us to gather up the jewels of His promises, and deck memory’s hall with the gems of His Word. We should be armed with the promises of God. Our souls should be barricaded with them. When Satan comes in with his darkness and seeks to fill up my soul with gloom I repeat some precious promise of God…As I do this the light of the glory of God fills my soul.

When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Comforter will bring to your remembrance the appropriate promises for your comfort, and help. Keep your heart full of the promises of God. Then there will be no room for doubt, fear, frustration and discouragement to come in. Problems will be solved as the rising sun absorbs the darkness.

Talk faith, live faith, and in the face of every discouragement plant yourselves on the promises of God.

Why Aren’t We Finding God’s Help?

Every one of these promises is an invitation to use it in prayer for needed help in these respective situations. Of course they cannot help you unless you apply them by faith and prayer. The vast majority of Church members never use these promises in prayer.

This reveals why they don’t enjoy a true Christian life. Those who are familiar with some of these promises use them only to a limited degree. This is why they come short of having the continuing help which they so urgently need.

Unlocking Heaven’s Storehouse

Prayer is the key in the hand of faith to unlock heaven’s storehouse. But the right key does not give admittance unless you use it. You need to know how to insert it into the lock. Then do it. So it is with promise-based prayers for the sure answers.

Follow this four-step procedure, and it will bring results. Find the promise of God in your Bible that offers what you need at that particular time. By the grace of God meet the condition in the promise. Do your part. One important factor is to believe with all your heart that God will do for you exactly what He says in this promise.
Take this promise to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to do for you as specified in the promise. As you ask God to fulfill His promise, believe that He does it as that moment. Believe that you receive what you requested according to His promise. In some cases it may be a matter of believing that what He has promised will come to you when you need it. But in such cases you have the gift in His sure promise.

This is how to pray and be sure that you receive what you pray for. This kind of prayer can revolutionize your life for a better and happier experience. Apply it. Then you can ask God for peace, help, courage, strength, and victory, and always receive help. Why limp along in spiritual weakness when by applying God’s promises in prayer you may have your needs supplied to the full!

Remain blessed!
