PREPARING YOUR HEART FOR THE LORD

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"For I received from the LORD what I passed on to you: The LORD Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said 'This is my body, which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of me: In the same way, after supper, he took the cup, saying,' This cup is the new testament in my blood, do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me' For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the LORD’s death until he comes. Therefore, whoever eats bread or drinks the cup of the LORD in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and the blood of the LORD" 1 Corinthians 11:23-27 NIV

In preparing your heart for the LORD, there's every need for you to:

1). Know the reason for such - it is a remembrance of the LORD: bread - His body, cup - His blood. This is in itself a proclamation of the sacrificial and vicarious death of Christ Jesus.

2). No heaven-minded child of God can afford to partake on the LORD’s table in an unworthy manner because it presages mortal danger - sin against the LORD.
This unworthiness has everything to do with the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 4:4, 26). There should not be for you, child of God, 'more of me, and less of the LORD Jesus.'

PRAYER BULLETS:

1). LORD Jesus, may I not be held responsible for Your death due to my actions and inactions.

2). My heavenly Father, I seek to do Your will in my life, help me through Your Son Jesus Christ.

YOU CANNOT BE STRANDED WITH JESUS

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

".... For God has said, 'I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.'" Hebrews 13:5 NLT

Growing up as a young new believer, I had thought I was missing something in the world by my profession of faith in the LORD Jesus Christ . It was when I became a 'son' I realised that nothing good has passed/will pass me bye because of the choice I made to follow Jesus.

The encouragement for you today as a believing child of God is this - be rest assured that there's nothing good that will pass you bye because of your faith in Christ Jesus, and your choice to follow Him; but please follow Him all the way, even where there seem to be no way and through the desert/wilderness of life.

He knows the way.

You will never be stranded, that's a sure guarantee from Him.

PRAYER BULLETS:

Thank You LORD Jesus, for Your comforting assurances on my walk and work with You. My present and future are safe with You.

Engrace me to follow You all the way, and all my life.

THE PILGRIMS GUIDE

FRIDAY MAY 22, 2026

SINCERE, BUT WRONG

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, accompanying the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark. Then David and all the house of Israel played music before the LORD on all kinds of instruments of fir wood, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on sistrums, and on cymbals. And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God. And David became angry because of the LORD’s outbreak against Uzzah; and he called the name of the place Perez Uzzah to this day." 2 Samuel 6:3-8 NKJV.

We see in our anchor Scripture above how that the Israelites, ably led by King David, were trying to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem. They clearly had good intentions but acted wrongly by going outside of the LORD's laid down rules in the Law for handling the Ark of the Covenant. That anomaly unavoidably led to the death of Uzzah, who in his misguided zeal (for the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD and His name) touched the Ark to steady it from a fall.

Sometimes, you wonder why things do turn out bad for you, even in all your determination and sincerity in God's service. The truthful fact remains that God's does not relax His principles due to your misguided zeal or zealous ignorance. If like Uzzah, you're not a priest that is permitted to touch the Ark, don't ever be sincerely wrong in doing that; seek to live and act within the ambits of God's instructions, purpose and will for your life in order to avoid eternally regrettable consequence.

If it has to be, it's up to you.

PRAYER BULLETS:

ABBA Father, I thank You for opening the eyes of my mind to Your Word. I ask for the help of the Holy Spirit to be well-guided in my walk and work with You. I don't want to be ignorantly zealous.

THE UNCTION ABIDES IN YOU

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"And 'yourselves,' the unction which ye have received from him abides in you, and ye have not need that any one should teach you; but as the same unction teaches you as to all things, and is true and is not a lie, and even as it has taught you, ye shall abide in him." 1 John 2:27 DARBY.

The word 'unction' means 'the action of anointing someone with oil,' or 'pour on and rub in.' In the Old Testament a priest had anointing oil poured over his head, symbolising the Spirit of God resting on him as he carried out his duties each day. Now fast forward to the age we are living in and read it again: 'But the wonderful anointing you have received from God is so much greater than their deception and now lives in you....' (TPT). The word 'live' simply means to 'make one's home in a particular place or with a particular person.' In other words, you're a container for God's Spirit. And when His Spirit abides within you, it affects every aspect and area of your life.

Try to imagine the advantage this gives you when it comes to your relationships, career, health, decisions, struggles, marriage and your ministry. Imagine what it does when you're under stress and handling overwhelming challenges and situations. And what's more, the unction of God's Spirit that 'abides' in you is transferable to others. When you speak scriptural words of kindness and encouraging words to someone, those words are still at work long after you're gone because they're infused with the presence of God.

God told Moses, in the Old Testament, "You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations.'" (Exodus 30:31 NKJV). 'Generations.' That means your children and grandchildren can be anointed with God's Spirit too. The psalmist says, 'I have been anointed with fresh oil.' (Psalm 92:10 NKJV). Every morning when you wake up, pray, 'LORD, anoint me afresh today.' Then go out and touch others with that anointing.

PRAYER BULLETS:

ABBA Father, thank you for Your anointing that is alive and resident in me. Engrace me through it to live a victorious life that fulfils Your purpose and glorifies Your name.

WEDNESDAY MAY 20, 2026

PERSEVERANCE IN SERVICE

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Your labour is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV

The reflection of the context of our anchor Scripture is on the encouragement to remain steadfastly diligent in your walk and work with God. This comes with the assurance that your labour will not be in vain, and that your rewards awaits you as you persevere in service. For you, as a believing child of God, you're faced with many distractions to make you to forget that this world isn't your home, that you should be living with eternity in view. Being at home with Christ Jesus in a home specially prepared for you when you get to Heaven should be your ultimate desired reward for how well you fulfilled your God-given assignment here on earth.

Here are three specifics to keep in mind. Though you might be opportuned to receive some physical, material, financial or social rewards here, but your greatest reward will be in Heaven, not on earth.

1). Your reward will without doubt be based on the quality, and not the multiplicity of what you've done. God is not impressed with your outward doings, but is moved by the sincerity of your heart.

2). When you've done what is needed, yet you were ignored and misunderstood, when you've done the right thing but received neither credit nor acknowledgment; when you've served, given, and sacrificed, then willingly stepped aside so God would get all the glory, don't forget to remember that, "Your labour is not in vain." (1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV).

3). The LORD Jesus says: 'Your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.' (Matthew 6:4 NLT).

PRAYER BULLETS:

LORD Jesus, thank You for opening the eyes of my mind to understand that my reward is waiting for me. Help me to remain resolved to receive this reward in spite of the seeming distractions and difficulties.

A MAN AFTER GOD'S HEART

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"...the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD's command." 1 Samuel 13:14 NIV.

David happened to be the man sought out by the LORD in our anchor Scripture (anyone can become such, but it comes as a result a deliberate personal decision, efforts and sacrifices to please God). He was the man after God's heart due to, and not limited to the following reasons:

1). He had firm belief in God right from his youth. (1 Samuel 17:34, 37; Psalm 23)

2). He never ceased to diligently and continually seek God's face, His counsel, and dependence on Him in a childlike manner. (1 Samuel 23:2-4; 2 Samuel 2:1).

3). He worshipped God with all that was within him. (1 Chronicles 15 & 16).

4). He, in humility recognised God as the real King of Israel. (2 Samuel 5:12).

5). Even in public, he did not refrain from obeying God and carrying out His will. (2 Samuel6:14-19).

Though later in life and on some occasions he, through his conduct caused God grief by his acts of adultery, murder and taking census of God's people etc, but at every point he sought God's forgiveness through his confessions. (2 Samuel 12:7-14; 1 Chronicles 21:1-17; Psalm 51:1-12).

PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, help me by Your grace to seek after You with all my heart.
May I not ever lose sight of You as to want to please men over You, in Jesus name.

GOD'S ABIDING PRESENCE

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Exodus 33:14 NKJV.

Our foundational text is a profound Godly promise of companionship, guidance, and peace for life and service. Here we hear God making His promise to Israel (and to all His children by extension) through Moses, His servant, that His presence will not just teleguide, but will personally 'go with' His people, to ensure that they are never alone; talking about His abiding presence.

This is an individual invitation and encouragement to you to personally and deliberately seek God's presence as the most important aspect of your life and service. Endeavour to realise and recognise that your Christian life and service is not complete without God's presence, but when you walk in His presence, you walk in His power and are enabled to be effective to His glory.

PRAYER BULLETS:

ABBA Father, thank You for the promise and privilege of Your abiding presence. Help me to prioritise seeking You and to walk consciously with You daily. Enable me to serve You faithfully to Your glory.

THE MINDSET THAT TRIGGERS DIVINE ELEVATION

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Were the Ethiopians and the Lubim not a huge army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the LORD, He delivered them into your hand." 2 Chronicles 16:8 NKJV.

Our foundational Scripture reflects the understanding that a positive and faithful mindset and attitude in life and ministry can lead to great and higher accomplishments and growth to the glory of God.
There are things that God doesn't give you, but by the virtue of your relationship with Him, you have access to them because they're already there, (Ephesians 1:3). But the decision(s) you take right inside of you determines the outcome(s) for you.

Science, as it were, does not obstruct divine operation, neither does God vitiate the principles of science because they are from the same source - God.
No matter what the experts are saying or the evidences available, the truthful fact remains that God rules over all, therefore, you must endeavour to align yourself to His will for you, to enable you innately grow the right mindset and attitude for elevation.

PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, thank You for the victories You have endowed my life with. Engrace me to trust You fully and align myself to Your will for me.

THE PILGRIMS GUIDE

SATURDAY MAY 16, 2026

INTEGRITY AS A DIVINE PRESERVATIVE

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Vindicate me, O LORD, For I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the LORD; I shall not slip. Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart." Psalm 26:1-2 NKJV.

From the context of our anchor Scripture, we could deduce the spirit and intent of David's talks about sound moral principles of integrity, uprightness, honesty and sincerity; for sure the above virtues are parts of divine preservatives.
For the person of integrity, it could be conclusively said that their life is made whole; if such a person posesses an undivided heart towards God.
The LORD Jesus made it abundantly clear that nobody can successfully serve two masters equally (Matthew 6:24). Therefore, like the psalmist, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we should always strive to, with determined intentionality say to God 'Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.' (Psalm 25:21 NKJV).

Everyone wants to deal with people of integrity, either in business or in spiritual matters. Lots of benefits comes from living a life of uprightness and integrity. When you possess integrity, you don't have to be afraid of slipping. Let's hear from the psalmist again, 'I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the LORD; I shall not slip.' (Psalm 26:1 NKJV) . Integrity provides a level ground for the believer and thus he cannot fall. When you have a good conscience, you don't have to be afraid of the battles of life or the furnace of affliction that may come your way, this is because you know and trust that God will see you through. When you walk in integrity, you won't slide and you won't be afraid of anything except God.

Honesty and trustworthiness are synonymous to integrity. How honest are you? Are you trustworthy? What should you fear if you are not walking in integrity? May the LORD continually accomplish all that concerns you, as you seek to live by the divine preservative of integrity.

PRAYER BULLETS:

ABBA Father, that I may be subsumed in Your divine preservative of integrity and live a pleasing life for Your glory.

FRIDAY MAY 15, 2026

A LIFE SUSTAINED BY THE VINE

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Remain in Me, and I will remain in you..." John 15:4 NIV

Always be reminded that the stars keep shining, even when clouds hide them. Behind the dark stretches of life, your Heavenly Father's eternal love still shines brightly. If you have cultured trust in Him, your faith will convey you through the darkest moments of life. The life that the LORD Jesus promises us if we remain in Him is so challenging, (though not impossible) and people hesitate to accept it and instead choose to remain in a religious pattern of behaviour that has become dull, unproductive, and promotes neither joy nor spiritual growth.

The life that Christ promises is much more than just an emotional experience, it creates inner peace, a constructive approach in life, and provides the strength to achieve and maintain such a life through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Will you dare to remain in Him, and be imbued by the Spirit-empowered transformation and enduement to be sustained by the Vine?

PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, I praise and glorify You for the life-changing strength You have availed me that flows from the LORD Jesus Christ, Your only begotten Son as I continue to abide in Him.

O LORD, LISTEN TO MY WORDS

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Listen to my words, LORD, consider my lament. Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly." Psalm 5:1-3 NIV.

When you are faced with a difficult situation in life, do not seek God only after all other means have failed. Rather, consult God first; make Him your number one option and the only one.
You cannot put God last as a child of God and expect to succeed, that goes against the grain of wisdom and divine principles of success.
When you're in that miry clay or any kind of distressing situation and by faith you look up to God and call to Him in prayer, believe that He has given ear to your words and has considered your meditations, then expect to see the very manifestation and move of God concerning you.

Every agent of the devil that won't let you go, goes down for you in Jesus name.

PRAYER BULLETS:

ABBA Father, thank You for always giving ear to my words. Grant me the simplicity of faith of praying according to Your will.
