Prayer to St. Jerome
O Saint Jerome during your earthly life you received the
Merciful gaze of the Lord and with the motherly help of
the Blessed Virgin Mary you were renewed to a life of grace: extend upon us your protection and obtain us from the Lord a true conversion to the Gospel of Salvation.
Glory...
O Saint Jerome, you were a flame of divine love to the
needy and orphans and brought solace to their misery and
sufferings; grant that following your example we may learn
how to welcome and love our neighbor in the same way as
Jesus loved us.
Glory'...
O Saint Jerome, in your life you revealed to men the
mercy and tenderness of the heavenly Father by
welcoming children and young people and teaching them
the way to Heaven; continue with the same love of predilection to guard and protect our youth
from all evil.
Glory...
Saint Jerome, in your earthly life, like a Good
Samaritan, many times with a father’s love you bent upon
every person bodily or spiritually wounded, please help
through your prayer and fatherly intercession
our sick brothers and sisters, give them strength and courage to face and live with faith this moment of suffering, so “that they may soon recover from their illness and be given again serenity and health, in order to praise you
in your Church with a thankful and joyful heart.
Glory...
Let us pray
O God of our salvation, hear our prayers as we rejoice for having given us through the example of St. Jerome Emiliani, living faith, burning love and undying hope, grant us that spirit of holiness and of love that will enable us to accomplish your will now and forever.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
