*PTD NUPENG National Chairman, Comr. Augustine Egbon, Laid to Rest*
The Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) bid a tearful farewell to their beloved National Chairman, Comr. Augustine Egbon (JP), as he was laid to rest on January 10, 2026.
The burial ceremony, which took place at EBS Benin city, was attended by top dignitaries from NUPENG, including National President Comr. Prince Akporeha, General Secretary Comr. Afolabi, National Trustee Comr. Otunba Oladiti, acting national chairman Comr. Malut Abubakar, 2nd deputy national chairman Comr. Odinakachi Nwador, National secretary Comr. Oluchi Chinagorom, all national Executive council members of PTD NUPENG, Zonal Chairmen and Zonal officials, Unit Chairmen, Treasures, Secretaries, Trustees and other esteemed guests from across the nation.
The event was a grand display of respect and admiration for the late Comr. Egbon, who was remembered for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to the PTD and NUPENG. The atmosphere was somber, yet celebratory, as friends, family, and colleagues came together to bid farewell to a remarkable leader.
The NUPENG leadership and members of the PTD branch expressed their gratitude to all who attended the burial, acknowledging the impact of Comr. Egbon's legacy on the union and the nation.
Comr. Egbon's burial marks the end of an era, but his memory and contributions will continue to inspire and motivate the PTD and NUPENG family.
