TODAY'S TEXT:
Deuteronomy 4:27-31

TODAY'S VERSE:
Deuteronomy 4:29 (NIV) ​
"But if from there you will seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul."

Overwhelmed by life, Grace stood at the prayer ground and cried out to God, feeling unheard and alone. As she walked and prayed, a quiet calm filled her heart. She did not hear a voice, yet she felt God's presence deeply. In that still, sacred moment, Grace realised God had been near all along. Though she did not find all the answers, she found something greater: God's presence and in it, she discovered hope.
​Seeking something of great value can require a great deal of commitment and intentionality.
Seeking God is more than seeking gold and precious stones as the miners do.
God Himself has given men the criteria by which they must seek Him if they truly want to have Him at the centre of their life and affairs. They should seek Him with their heart and soul.
Today's passage is Moses's speech to the people of Israel, instructing them in advance on how to conduct themselves once they enter the Promised Land.
He charged them not to allow their hearts to be corrupted and not to serve man-made gods. Such attitudes would provoke God's anger against them and would prevent them from staying long in the land. But if they remembered their God and sought Him with all their heart and soul, they would find Him and enjoy His love and compassion.
God promised the Israelites that they would find him when they searched with all their hearts and souls. God wants to be known, but we must desire to know Him. Service and worship to God must be accompanied by sincere devotion from the heart.
​How desperate are you to know God? How deeply do you seek Him? Do you seek Him diligently, with all of your heart and soul? Therefore, tarry in God's presence today so that He broods over you, so that you can go out there and show forth His glory.

O Lord, give me a heart of true repentance.
Help me to seek Your presence with sincerity and reveal Yourself to me afresh from today onward, in Jesus' Precious Name!

"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

​One of Watchman Nee's quotes says, "Outside of Christ, I am only a sinner, but in Christ, I am saved. Outside of Christ, I am empty; in Christ, I am full. Outside of Christ, I am weak; in Christ, I am strong. Outside of Christ, I cannot; in Christ, I am more than able. Outside of Christ, I have been defeated; in Christ, I am already victorious. How meaningful are the words, 'in Christ.'"
​Today, Thomas asked a question that has become a generational reference: "How can we know the way?"
Jesus also gave the answer that has become the centre of the Gospel proclamation today.
He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
By this statement, Jesus is saying that He is our path to the Father; He is the reality of God's promises; and our only access to eternal life. The reason why Jesus remains the only way to heaven is that He alone paid the price for the salvation of humankind with His own life.
​There are still people around us today who are lost and are in need of direction. Will you or your family be a channel through which they can come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ? You should be a channel through which men can come to the knowledge of Christ. Your life should speak more of Jesus than of any others.

Dear Lord, help me to trust You as my guide and follow your way. Lead me to some souls today to whom I will show the Way to heaven.
O Deliverer, hear us and save us as we come to You. Cause Your church to be a mighty witness of Your power and love, in Jesus' Precious Name!

Jude 20 - 25

TODAY'S VERSE:
Jude 22-23a (NIV)
"Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear."

​In Six Hours One Friday, Max Lucado recounts the story of a missionary in Brazil who attempted to aid a tribe plagued by disease. A hospital lay across a river, but the tribe believed evil spirits lived in the water. Despite the missionary’s efforts to prove it was safe, the people remained fearful. Finally, he dove in, swam across, and raised his arm in victory. Seeing he had survived, the tribe cheered and followed—trusting the way because he had gone before them.
​In today's text, Jude advised believers to build themselves up by praying in the Holy Spirit. He also encouraged them to dwell in God's love and wait patiently for eternal life. He then stated certain obligations that believers have towards one another.
First, we need to show mercy to those in any kind of spiritual or physical need.
Second, we need to use discernment in helping our brothers and sisters in the church. Some may require tender care and patience to help them grow in Christ.
For some, we may need to take drastic action to rescue them from the temptation of sin.
​Jude admonished believers to hate clothing stained by corrupted flesh. Believers must avoid anything that can hinder others from accepting the gospel on their lips.
​Is your life pointing others to Jesus or flesh? Do you show enough compassion toward the unbelievers around you? Remember that God can save anyone who genuinely comes to Him. So, do not give up on anyone around you. Continue to witness Christ to them through your words and actions.

Lord, grant me the compassion to support those who doubt. Help me to show mercy and love and be consistent in prayer so that my faith can become stronger, in Jesus Precious Name!

Psalms 119:9-11

TODAY'S VERSE:
Psalm 119:11 (KJV) "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."

After Chide accepted the Lord Jesus, he struggled with many of his former sinful habits. Whenever he discussed his struggles with his discipler, he was encouraged to spend time in prayer and fasting. Chide noticed that these spiritual disciplines helped him keep the desires of the flesh under control for a time. However, once the fast was over, those same sinful desires seemed to resurface with renewed strength. His spiritual life felt like a seesaw—burning with zeal one day and struggling the next.
One day, Chide noticed a friend reading a book about the kingdom of God. Curious, he borrowed the book and began to read it. For the first time, he gained a deeper understanding of God's kingdom and His truth. This new understanding awakened in him a genuine hunger for the Scriptures. Even passages in the Old Testament that had once seemed confusing now came alive with meaning.
As Chide became a student of God's Word, he noticed a remarkable transformation. His prayers became more effective because they were now rooted in the truth of Scripture, and the sinful habits that had once dominated him gradually lost their power. He experienced lasting freedom because he came to know the truth.
Jesus said to those who believed in Him, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:31–32). Freedom from sin is not found merely in trying harder but in continually abiding in the truth of God's Word.
Prayer and fasting remain vital disciplines in the life of every believer, but they are never meant to replace a life rooted in Scripture. God's primary instrument for sanctifying His people is His Word. Jesus prayed, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (John 17:17). The Word of God is the spiritual water that cleanses, renews, and transforms the minds of those who have been born again (Ephesians 5:26). As our minds are renewed, our desires are transformed, and the power of sin is progressively broken.
Therefore, go into today determined to become a person who abides in God's Word. Hide His Word in your heart, meditate on it day and night, and allow it to shape your thoughts, desires, and decisions. As you continue in His truth, you will discover that the same Word that reveals God's will also supplies the grace to walk in it.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. Plant Your truth deeply in my heart and renew my mind every day. Help me to abide in Your Word, to delight in Your truth, and to walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for me. Let Your Word guide every decision I make and transform me into the image of Your Son, in Jesus Precious Name!

Isaiah 58:3-7

TODAY'S VERSE:
Isaiah 58:6 (NIV)
'Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?'

​There is a heartbreaking story of a father who sought justice for his daughter, who was a member of another family that had sexually abused her. Despite his relentless pursuit to expose the matter, his daughter was coerced into denying the abuse in front of the judge, resulting in the father being arrested for character assassination.
This tragic narrative underscores the injustice that can occur when those in power exploit the vulnerable. God confronted the Israelites for their hollow worship amidst the oppression of the poor and the exploitation of workers. Though they fasted and prayed, their actions spoke louder than their words. God, through the prophet Isaiah, revealed that true fasting involves breaking the chains of injustice and freeing the oppressed. The Israelites' hypocrisy was laid bare as they engaged in religious rituals while ignoring the plight of the vulnerable around them.
Our faith lacks genuineness if it does not reach out to others in need. Believers must be genuinely concerned about the plight of the oppressed around them. God's children must be the ambassadors of justice and righteousness wherever they are.
Examine how you have been responding to injustices happening around you. It might be a neighbour facing discrimination, a friend experiencing hardship, or even a global issue affecting distant communities. Take a step to educate yourself about these injustices. Perhaps it is time to use your voice and influence to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. This is not just about feeling empathy; it is about being a catalyst for change.
​Are you willing to be a voice for those who are silent? Strive to become an advocate for the oppressed this week.

Psalm 34:1-9

TODAY'S VERSE:
Psalm 34:4 (NIV) ​
"I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all fears."

​Fear is a universal human experience, often born out of uncertainty. Nelson Mandela once said, "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."
During World War II, Corrie and her family risked their lives to save the Jews from N**i persecution. Despite the constant threat of discovery and the horrors surrounding her, Corrie learned to trust God in the most terrifying circumstances. She famously said, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
This is similar to David’s circumstance in today’s passage.
​David reflects on when he was in deep distress, yet he sought the Lord and was delivered from his fears. David not only experienced personal deliverance, but he also invited others to "taste and see that the Lord is good" (v.8).
This passage illustrates that those who look to God are radiant with joy. Their faces are never covered with shame. God hears the cries of the righteous and delivers them from every trouble, just as He delivered David.
​Are you facing fears that seem overwhelming? Like David, you are called to seek God in your distress. Fear can consume your mind and heart, but God invites you to trust Him completely.
Have you cried out to Him for deliverance? The invitation is not just to observe what God can do but to personally experience His deliverance. Reflect on the areas of your life where fear has held you back and bring them to the Lord. He is ready to free you from those burdens and fill you with His peace.

TODAY'S VERSE:
Isaiah 61:8 (NIV)
"For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness, I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them."

In a small town, a business owner earned a reputation for attending church regularly. Yet behind closed doors, he underpaid his employees, exploited the poor, and bribed officials to get his way. To the outside world, he appeared righteous, but his actions told a different story.
Today's passage highlights God's unwavering commitment to justice and restoration. The Lord promises to rebuild what has been destroyed and to right the wrongs inflicted on His people. He declares, "For I, the Lord, love justice" (v.8a). The exiled Israelites, once dishonoured and oppressed, would experience vindication and restoration, becoming a people honoured among the nations. God's justice is not limited to punishment for wrongdoing; it includes healing, rebuilding broken lives, and restoring dignity and hope to those who have suffered.
As believers, we are called to stand for God's justice in everything we do. Let His love for justice move us to stand boldly for what is right, oppose oppression, speak up for the voiceless, and ensure fairness in all our dealings. Therefore, let us remain steadfast and courageous, knowing that our efforts to uphold justice are part of God's greater plan. We must trust that God is at work, even when justice seems delayed. His promises of restoration are certain and will be fulfilled in His perfect timing.

"One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."

"Friendship is a profound bond of loyalty, trust, and understanding. While family ties are often given by birth, friendships are chosen and nurtured, sometimes resulting in even deeper and more meaningful connections. Such friendships can surpass biological relationships in terms of emotional closeness and support.
There are many concepts of friendship, but at the core, two main kinds exist: one based on what you can offer, and the other rooted in genuine love and loyalty. A true friend stays closer than a brother, a companion who can be trusted and often proves more dependable than even some family members. Such friendships are rare and valuable. They are marked by honesty, consistency, sacrifice, and a shared commitment to truth. They show up in seasons of joy and in times of hardship. While some relationships fade when circumstances change, a true friend remains - praying, encouraging, and standing firm by your side. What kind of friend are you to others? It is easy to desire good friends, but far more important is the kind of friend you are. Strive to be the kind of friend who shows the nature of Christ: faithful, loving, truthful, and dependable. Let your friendships demonstrate the love and faithfulness of Jesus, showing care not just in words, but in actions as well.
True friendships are rare and profound, requiring transparency, vulnerability, and emotional availability.
One of the core strengths of true friendship is reliability. Are you a reliable friend? The challenge is to be the friend that attracts Jesus and brings glory to His name. Also, remember that the best friend you can have is Jesus.
