TEN PERMANENT CATHOLIC TEACHINGS
These are considered unchanging and are rooted in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and affirmed by the Magisterium of the Church:
1. THE TRINITY
The belief in one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is central and unchangeable.
2. THE DIVINITY OF JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is true God and true man. His divine nature is eternal and inseparable from His human nature.
3. THE REAL PRESENCE OF CHRIST IN THE EUCHARIST
The Church teaches that Jesus is truly present—body, blood, soul, and divinity—in the Holy Eucharist.
4. THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF MARY
Mary was conceived without original sin. This dogma affirms her unique role in salvation history.
5. THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY
Mary was assumed body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly life.
6. THE INDISSOLUBILITY OF MARRIAGE
Marriage between one man and one woman is a sacrament and a lifelong, unbreakable covenant.
7. THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE
Human life is sacred from conception to natural death. The Church opposes abortion, euthanasia, and any form of deliberate killing.
8. THE NECESSITY OF BAPTISM FOR SALVATION
Baptism is necessary for salvation as it cleanses one from original sin and initiates one into the Church.
9. THE EXISTENCE OF HEAVEN, HELL, AND PURGATORY
The Church teaches the eternal consequences of moral choices—reward for the righteous and punishment for the unrepentant.
10. THE APOSTOLIC NATURE OF THE CHURCH
The Catholic Church is founded on the apostles, and the Pope, as the successor of St. Peter, holds the primacy of authority given by Christ.
These doctrines are considered IRREFORMABLE.
They are not subject to change, regardless of cultural or historical developments.
