TODAY'S MESSAGE:
By Pastor Endy chikelu Ndubuisi:
Topic: No One Is Too Lost for God’s Grace
Text: Gospel of Luke 15:1–32
Introduction
In the Gospel of Luke chapter 15, we see how Jesus welcomed sinners and tax collectors who gathered around Him. The Scripture says “they were eager to hear Him.”
This reveals that the message Jesus preached was unique and different from what they were accustomed to hearing. Instead of condemnation, Jesus proclaimed the doctrine of grace and redemption—the truth that God’s love reaches beyond human failure.
However, the religious leaders despised this and began to murmur, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”
In response, Jesus shared three parables that reveal three dimensions of spiritual lostness:
The Lost Sheep – representing someone who has wandered away.
The Lost Coin – representing someone who is spiritually lost and unaware.
The Prodigal Son – portraying someone who deliberately walked away from the Father.
Yet in every story, the lost is searched for, found, and restored with joy.
Through these parables, Jesus revealed a profound truth about God’s mission: God seeks, saves, and restores the lost.
Human beings may write people off because of their failures, but God does not. His grace is greater than sin, greater than shame, and greater than the distance anyone may have wandered.
The central message is this: whatever may have caused your lostness or failure in life can be removed through Jesus Christ. There is a dimension of restoration available right now. If you humble yourself, repent, and return to the Lord, everything lost in the past can be restored.
Truths We Must Uphold
1. God Is Still Actively Seeking the Lost
Jesus said:
“Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?”
— Gospel of Luke 15:4
This shows that God never gives up on the lost. Even when people wander away, God continues calling them back.
2. Lost Souls Are Precious to God
In the parable of the lost coin, the woman lights a lamp and searches diligently until she finds it.
Gospel of Luke 15:8 shows the intensity of that search.
This teaches us that every soul is valuable to God. No person is insignificant in His sight.
3. Repentance Opens the Door to Restoration
The turning point for the prodigal son came when he made a decision:
“I will arise and go to my father.”
— Gospel of Luke 15:18
Repentance is the moment when a person turns away from sin and returns to God. When that happens, restoration begins.
4. God’s Grace Is Greater Than Human Failure
Instead of condemnation, the father showed compassion, forgiveness, and restoration.
“While he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion and ran to his son.”
— Gospel of Luke 15:20
God’s grace removes the shame of the past.
As the Scripture says:
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
— Psalms 103:12
5. Salvation Brings Joy in Heaven
When a lost soul returns to God, heaven celebrates.
“There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents.”
— Gospel of Luke 15:7
Salvation is not just a personal experience—it is a heavenly celebration.
Application for Today
1. No One Is Beyond Redemption
No matter how far a person may have fallen, God’s grace can still reach them.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.”
— First Epistle of John 1:9
2. Our Mission Is to Lead the Lost to Salvation
As believers, our responsibility is not to condemn the lost but to guide them to Christ and the gift of salvation.
3. Respond to God’s Mercy Today
God’s mercy is available right now.
“Let the wicked forsake their ways… and He will have mercy on them.”
— Book of Isaiah 55:7
Conclusion
The message of Gospel of Luke 15 reminds us that no matter how far someone has wandered, they are never beyond the reach of God’s love.
The shepherd searched for the sheep.
The woman searched for the coin.
The father welcomed the returning son.
Today, the Father is still calling: “Come home.”
Because the truth remains forever:
No one is too lost for God’s grace.
