The Bible's position on "friendship" is that we should be CAREFUL in choosing our friends. Hence, friendship is a serious matter.

Excerpts from our Friendship Hangout
Text: Proverbs 12:26 (Nkjv)

*Whether you are born again or not, failure to surround yourself with the right friends will dangerously affect your life.

*Friends will influence you in 3 ways: they'll influence your character, your choices, and the outcome of your life.

HOW TO GO ABOUT CHOOSING THE RIGHT FRIENDS
1. Ask the right question: Are they saved? If they are not born again, they will drag you back morally and quench your pursuit for God. "Evil communication corrupts good manners."

2. Go to the right places. Everything has their natural habitat or where they are found. You will always find houseflies in a dump as you will find wrong people in the wrong places. Right friends are found in the right places. Church, fellowship, school, etc are some places you can connect with the right people.

2. Have personal values: You must make friends that respect your boundaries and values which are consistent with your vision, purpose and faith.

4. Prayers (Pro. 3:5-6). Prayer brings discernment and direction. Not everyone in church or school are good people. Not everyone smiling with you should have access into your inner life and circle.

5. Read: Studying the Bible and other good books enlightens your eyes and impacts you with wisdom on the kind of company to keep.

6. Seek mentorship and counsel from the right sources. There are people who have gone ahead of you, always seek counsel.

7. Be friendly and care about others. (1 John 4:7). Don't be selfish or withdrawn from others. God will not throw friends at you like manna; love and talk to people if you want them to love and talk to you. People will only remember how much you care not how much you have.
