OCCUPYING FOR THE KING WITH OUR GOD GIVEN RESOURCES
From our previous discussion, we have discovered the following:
-That God has placed in our different kingdoms(our social positions and circumstances to represent His interest.
That God has also endowed us with resources (natural and spiritual gifts, talents, experiences, acquisitions etc) to carry out this assignment.
In this discussion, we will see that for us to occupy for God we must be occupied by Him. Look at several ways we can influence our kingdoms to fulfill God's purpose in putting us in these kingdoms.

When we strongly believe in promises of God, and stagger not through unbelief, God is glorified and His kingdom is built up, through these received promises.
2) HIS PRECIOUS WORD
The Word of God (the Gospel) is the power of God unto salvation. The Word of God does the following
- It breaks and heals the heart of men
- It sanctifies, stimulates, converts, moves, revolutionizes the whole of human society 2 Cor 3:18
3) HIS HOLY SPIRIT
Through His indwelling Spirit (His Holy Spirit) in us, we have received the mightiest power that any mortal can possess.
Through the indwelling Holy Spirit, God possesses us, to use us and to work mightily through us. In other words, He occupies us by His Holy Spirit so as to use us to occupy for Him.
Through the indwelling Holy Spirit, He moulds us into Christlikeness as we yield to His work in us and through the infilling of His Holy Spirit (Baptism of the Holy Spirit) He endues us with power for His service 2 Cor 3:18, Acts 1:8
When we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the door of the supernatural opens to enable us receive the spiritual gifts 1 Cor 12:7-10
4) THE POWER OF PRAYER
God has also given us the power of prayer through which we can move His Hand and accomplish His purposes. James 5:16
The power of believing prayer includes:
- Opening of Heavens to bless the hearts of men
- Conquering the power of satan
- To bring salvation to people
- To overcome formidable enemies and obstacles
- To accomplish all that our weak human hands are unable to accomplish
5) THE PROSPECTS
- The hope of His second coming
- The inheritance of His Glory
- The assurance that we shall reign with Him

THE CHRISTIAN WHO WILL OCCUPY FOR HIS LORD AND HIS GOD GIVEN RESOURCES.
"and he called his ten servants and delivered them ten pounds and said unto them "occupy till i come" luke 19:13
In our previous discussion, we were able to discover that God has given each christian a Kingdom of influence and power (our social positions and circumstances) to occupy for Him.
THE CHRISTIAN'S GOD GIVEN RESOURCES
Our present discussion will focus on our God given resources otherwise known as talents as in the above passage. These talents can be discussed under the following sub heads
•Our natural endowments, talents and gifts.
- Our personalities, including natural attractions, intellectual gifts, talents, etc are all a trust from God and for the purpose of sacredly using them to serve Him Rev 4:11
Understanding that God has entrusted us with these gifts and talents in order to use them for Him will create a consciousness or mindset that we are sent to serve Him (sent mentality) and not for self (self serving mentality)
These natural endowments and gifts can be any of the following:
Our voice (tone), speech (eloquence), countenance, ingenuity, mannerism, physical attraction (natural endowments), talents, relationships (family ties)
•Our acquisitions
- Wealth, academic qualifications, positions in society, occupation (profession, careers), skill acquisition, relationships (friendship), connections, associates.
OUR SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCES AND ENDOWMENTS (PRIVILEGES)
Being born again (new birth) is an experience that equip us to also bring others to this experience (father others spiritually), when we pass through varied experiences in our spiritual lives such as trial, temptation, wilderness, we are then in a position to share our testimonies (stories) of victory so as to encourage, strengthen, comfort, instruct others passing through the same experience. The Holy Spirit uses our life testimonies to convert (help) others Luke 22:31-32, 2 Cor 1:3-5
SPIRITUAL ENDOWMENTS (INHERITANCES)
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ" Eph 1:3
In Christ, God has given us His exceeding great and precious promises to use as Holy influence for His service. These exceeding great and precious promises or influences given to us to use to occupy for Him are as follows:
1) His precious faith
Our faith in Him is a strong influence with which to advance His Kingdom.

So, any realm (sphere or territory) where we can use our influence or power to advance God's kingdom is our kingdom. God puts us in these positions and circumstances to occupy for Him.
Some examples of man's kingdom and people that God used in the bible to advance His kingdom are as follows:
•Mordecai at the king's gate. Esther 2:19-23
•Nehemiah, the king's chamberlain at shushan, the palace.

THE KINGDOM OF MAN
Gen 2:15, Esther 4:14
"Who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this Esther 4:14
The story of Esther and her influence in averting the extermination of Jews (in a foreign land) through the evil decree of their enemy Haman, is a good illustration of the kingdom of man and the role man can play in using his influence in making man's kingdom to fulfill God's purpose.
In the bible story in the book of Esther, the beautiful Hebrew slave Esther was the chosen vessel that God used to save her nation Israel, from extermination. (Please read the whole book of Esther for better understanding). Briefly, Esther became the Queen (the wife of king Ahasuerus) at a time there was a divine assignment of counteracting the evil decree of Haman (meant to exterminate the jews). Initially, Esther did not understand the circumstances of her Kingdom placement and the responsibilities (assignment). But when her uncle Mordecai called her attention to the fact that her coming into the kingdom could be for the purpose of carrying out the assignment and the dangers inherent in failing to fulfill God's purpose, Esther, realizing that it was a great opportunity for her determined to fulfill God's purpose not minding the risks to her life.
Her determination to fulfill God's purpose in her Kingdom made her to make the famous utterance in Esther 4:16b..and so will i go unto the King which is not according to the law and if I perish I perish. The law of the land, forbade her from going to meet the king except on the king's invitation, but the weight of God's assignment was more compelling.
So, what is the kingdom of man from Esther's story and the story of Adam in Gen 2:15, where God put Adam in the garden of Eden to dress and to keep it?
The kingdom of man or our kingdom can mean the following:
-Our social positions and circumstances
-Our workplaces (market places)
-Our residential places
-Our relationships
-Our academic environment

THE KINGDOM OF THIS WORLD. john 12:31, john 14:30
The kingdom of this world is a domain (realm, sphere or territory) which God has given to man to rule and reign- Gen 1:28, Gen 2:15. World powers, kings, presidents, and governments in authority rule over designated nations and territories through laws, constitutions, decrees etc
The fall of man (adam) through sin brought the kingdom of this world under satan, who became the prince of the kingdom of this world. Ps 82:5, John 12:31, 1john 3:8. Satan's influence and control of the kingdom of this world is so much that the kingdom of this world is vastly referred to as the kingdom of darkness. Isaiah 60:2
As a result of satan's grip on the world- the people of the world and the system of the world manifests darkness. The world system (value system, way of life, pursuits), is in opposition to God's system (value system, way of life or kingdom, lifestyle and pursuits 1john 2:15.
In other words, there is nothing in the system of this world that is from God. The corrupt influence of satan on the world and its system is made manifest in the following worldly lifestyle:
- lusts (lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life)
- covetousness, greed
- hatred, unforgiveness, malice, envy, jealousy, competitions, emulations, avarice
- wickedness, violence, destruction
- oppression, slavery, robbery
- love of money, idolatory, corruption
- selfishness, tribalism, nepotism
- injustice, inequity
- immorality
-inordinate ambition
It is important for us to understand that the kingdom of this world can also manifest the attributes of the kingdom of light, if the children of light exercise the rule, power and influence over an occupied territory for example exodus 10:23.
At Goshen in the same land of egypt, the children of Israel had light in the territory they occupied while there was total darkness for a period of 3 days in the whole land of egypt.

GATES AND DOORS
One of the most strategic infrastructure satan uses is to raise gates and doors or barriers so as to prevent men or territories from treasures, promotion and God's purposes for lives. Gates are places of entry and exit and spiritual gates are such that can not be seen by physical eyes but are powerful enough to constitute hindrances e.g ancient gates and everlasting doors in psalm 24: 7-9
EXAMPLES OF GATES
1) Gates in the land. Joshua 6:1
2) Gates in the waters. Exodus 8:20
3) Gates in the heavens. Daniel 10:10-14
4) Human gates. Acts 13:6-12
Except these evil gates and doors are located and destroyed through prayers, accessing God's blessing will be difficult for people in such territories.
The following are the manifestations of the kingdom of satan:
- Unrighteousness (Sin), strife (absence of peace), sadness, mourning, violence, robbery, wickedness, destruction, blood shed, terrorism, insecurity, sorrow, reproach. Proverbs 14:34
- Hatred, disunity, greed, covetousness, injustice, inequity, oppression, corruption, immorality, disorder, poverty, famine, diseases, disaster, abomination, tribulations. Proverbs 15:6,9.
- Premature death. Proverbs 15:10

THE KINGDOM OF SATAN (The kingdom of darkness) Ephesians 6:12, Daniel 10:12-13
The kingdom of satan, also known as the kingdom of darkness is any domain (sphere,realm or territory) where satan rules and reigns as kingdom. Satan's domain, where he exacts power and authority (influence) is regarded as kingdom of satan, also known as the kingdom of darkness.
Satan had spirit beings (demons and evil spirits) as well as human subjects through whom he rules and reigns. The kingdom of satan is well structured and ordered in hierarchy as seen below
1)Principalities: These are beings and rulers of the highest order in charge of kingdoms. They are princes in charge of nations and kingdoms e.g the prince of persia in daniel 10:13
2)Powers: Next to principalities are powers in regions and large spheres.
3)Rulers of darkness of this world: These are demon spirits and their human agents that carry out the instructions and orders of the powers.
4) Spiritual wickedness in high places: Further down in satanic hierarchy are beings (both spirit and human), mediums who attack, possess and manipulate people and activities in designated territories e.g the witch of endor in 1sam 28:7
Satan carries out his activities through all these agents.
His mode of operation are mostly:
- Deceptions, manipulations, wiles, darts or arrows of doubt, evil thoughts & imaginations, unbelief and fear, confusion, distraction, counterfeit, enticement, intimidation, ignorance (covering casts) through which he brings people under his control (captivity) His major assignment is to counter or frustrate God's purposes in any sphere he is allowed access (John 10:10) He steals, kills and destroys destinies and God's agenda for people, families, territories and nations.
The kingdom of satan also has infrastructural provisions that serve as gates, doors, portals, altars, shrine, covens etc for demonic worship and transactions.

KINGDOMS.
A brief study of kingdoms is key to understanding the topic: The christian who will occupy for the lord, and his God given resources.
A kingdom is a domain (sphere, realm of territory) where a king reigns and rules. In a kingdom, there are subjects, rules and regulations (laws), structures of order and authority (governance) there are also infrastructures and channels of communication. The king governs the subjects by the laws of the kingdom mostly using the delegated powers (structures) in place to maintain law and order.
For the purpose of this discussion we will consider 3 kingdoms namely:
1)The kingdom of God (kingdom of light)
2)The kingdom of satan (kingdom of darkness)
3)The kingdom of man

1)THE KINGDOM OF GOD (KINGDOM OF LIGHT).
The kingdom of God also known as the kingdom of light is any domain(sphere, realm or territory) where God and His Christ reign and rule as King and Lord.
The church (body of Christ) is the designated representative of God with its leadership order and authority. Jesus is the head of the church and the Holy Spirit is the administrator. The authority of the church is derived from Jesus and the guidance is by the Holy Spirit. All believers are subjects to the laws of the kingdom (the word of God), being under the Lordship of Jesus. While the church as a body is God's structure or authority organ, there are infrastructural provisions (embassies) in the church namely denominational bodies, ministries, fellowship, networks and families which serve as worship avenues, equipping centres and recruitment. These infrastructures are thus, like gates, doors, portals and altars for God's kingdom.
Individual believers are ambassadors(representatives of God with delegated power and authority to act on behalf of God and His church)
The following are attributes of God's kingdom
- Righteousness, peace & joy in the Holy Spirit rom 14:17.
- Love & unity acts 2:44-45
- Manifest power of God- salvation, transformation, deliverances, healings, miracles, signs and wonders. 1cor 4:20, obad 17
- Dominion, multiplication, fruitfulness, replenishment Gen 1:28
- Angelic traffic (transactions) Gen 28:12,17
- Goodness, mercy, equity, justice ps 23:6, ps 98:9
- Lifestyle of holiness and fear of God heb 12:14
- Decency and orderliness 1cor 14:40, ps 50:21.

BEHOLD HE IS RETURNING AS A KING.
"A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return, and he called his ten servants and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them occupy till i come. But his citizens hated him and sent a message after him saying, we will not have this man to reign over us. And it came to pass that when he was returned, having received the kingdom then he commanded these servants to be called unto him to whom he has given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying lord, thy pound had gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, well, thou good servant, because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
And the second came saying, lord, thy pound has gained 5pounds. And he said likewise to him, be thou also over 5 cities. And another came saying lord, behold here is thy pound, which i have kept laid up in a napkin..
But those my enemies which would not that i should rule over them, bring hither and slay them before me" Luke 19:12-27.
EXPLANATION
This story told by Jesus Himself as a parable of the pounds is about his impending return to reign as a king and His expectations from all that He called.
The earth and its fullness thereof belong to God Ps 24:1. The Heaven is the Lord's but the earth He has given to the children of men Ps 115:16. Adam was given the garden to till and to keep for the Lord as a delegated custody (transfer of the power of attorney or ownership) Gen 2:15. Archangel lucifer rebelled against God in Heaven and was driven out Heaven together with his fallen angels. Rev 12:7-9. Since the fall of man (Adam), Satan and his fallen angels have usurped the authority given to man over the earth and have gone ahead to establish the kingdom of darkness both in the hearts of men (making them reject God's reign) and in lands and spheres occupied by them. God sent Jesus to redeem man and empower him to reclaim the kingdom he lost to satan and his fallen agents.
In other words, the certain man that went to receive a kingdom and gave pounds to his servants to occupy for him till he returns is Jesus who is returning as a King. The servants He called and gave pounds are christians whom He redeemed and empowered to reclaim the lost kingdom while the citizens who refused that He will reign over them are the unbelievers who reject His Lordship.
