🌅 WORD FOR TODAY
Beloved, today's Gospel introduces us to Nathanael, traditionally identified with Saint Bartholomew, whose feast we celebrate today. When Philip told him that they had found Jesus, Nathanael initially responded with doubt: “Can anything good come from Nazareth?”
Philip did not argue with him. He simply said, “Come and see.”
This simple invitation teaches us something powerful: a personal encounter with Jesus can overcome doubts that arguments cannot.
When Nathanael approached Jesus, he discovered that the Lord already knew him. Jesus saw beyond his questions and recognized the sincerity of his heart. Nathanael then moved from doubt to faith and proclaimed:
“Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.”
Beloved, perhaps you have questions about God today. Perhaps certain situations have made you wonder whether God is truly present or whether He can still do something good in your life.
Do not allow doubt to keep you far from Jesus.
Come and see.
Come to Him in prayer.
Come to Him in worship.
Come to Him through His Word.
Come to Him in the Eucharist.
Come to Him with your burdens, questions, wounds, and hopes.
Jesus already knows you completely, yet He still invites you closer.
The First Reading presents the heavenly Jerusalem with foundations bearing the names of the twelve Apostles. This reminds us that the Apostles were called to become foundations and witnesses of Christ's Church.
Saint Bartholomew reminds us that God can take someone who initially questions and hesitates and transform that person into a faithful witness of the Gospel.
When we encounter Christ personally:
✨ Doubt gives way to faith.
✨ Fear gives way to courage.
✨ Confusion gives way to clarity.
✨ We discover that God knows and loves us personally.
✨ Our lives become witnesses of Christ to others.
Beloved, do not settle for knowing Jesus only through what others say about Him. Seek Him personally.
Your encounter with Christ can change your perspective, renew your hope, and give you a testimony that nobody can take away.
Come and see what the Lord can do in your life.
✝️ PROPHETIC DECLARATION
Today, I receive grace for a deeper encounter with Jesus.
Every doubt and unbelief in my heart shall give way to faith.
I shall know Christ personally and walk closely with Him.
The Lord shall reveal Himself in every difficult situation I am facing.
Every disappointment that has weakened my faith shall be transformed into a testimony.
I shall become a bold witness of the Gospel.
My life shall lead others to encounter the love and power of Christ.
Amen.
🙏 PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for calling me into a personal relationship with Your Son, Jesus Christ. Remove every doubt, fear, and distraction that keeps me from knowing Him more deeply.
Lord Jesus, help me to come and see You every day through prayer, Your Word, worship, and the Sacraments. Reveal Your presence in every area of my life. Where I am confused, give me light. Where I am discouraged, restore my hope. Where my faith is weak, strengthen me.
Like Saint Bartholomew, make me a sincere and courageous witness of Your Gospel. May my encounter with You become a testimony that draws others closer to You.
