WEEKLY REFRESHER
MINISTER: Pastor Phil Nwokolo
TOPIC: Delivered from wrath
TEXT: Isaiah 54:7-10
God said that "with everlasting kindness He'll have mercy on us"
✓Romans 9:21-24.... God intentionally prepared the believers as vessels of mercy...so we're not condemned to death.
✓Ephesians 2:1-6... we're not vessels of wrath.
We are alive in Christ, not dead in sin but dead to sin.
We are designed to enjoy God's mercy, so don't expect the worst for believers.
✓1Thessalonians 1:9-10...We have been delivered from wrath.
✓Ephesians 5:1-8...the wrath of God is prepared for the children of disobedience.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11....we are washed, sanctified and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus.... therefore we're the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
No records of sin
Psalm 32:1-2
Jeremiah 31:29-34 ....which day and covenant is the Bible talking about?
It's the day that we are now in, and the covenant of the new testament.
Hebrews 8:6-13.... In the new covenant, God does not record any sin against anybody.
WHAT WAS THE FAULT OF THE OLD COVENANT?
1. The burden of maintaining the covenant was on the people.
In the old covenant, God demanded righteousness from man...but in the new covenant, God supplied righteousness to man.
2. Sin was recorded against men.
The sins of man was recorded and they get punished for it in the old covenant but in the new covenant, there's no record of sin.
Romans 4:1-8, Romans 11:6... We're not justified by works but by Grace.
Hebrews 10:15-19...the sacrifices of Christ on the cross secured boldness/Access for us to enter in the most holy.
Christ took our place in judgement and qualified us for a better life.
2Corinthians 5:18-19...God does not impute sin on us, rather He reconciled us back to Himself through Christ.
John 16:7-11.
