CYON CADEK VISITED AGUATA CORRECTIONAL CENTRE, EKWULOBIA

Today was more than a visit; it was a moment of connection, compassion, and shared humanity.

Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria, Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON CADEK), led by the Diocesan President, Comr. Nebolisa Francisco, alongside deanery and parish executives, visited the Aguata Correctional Centre. It was a day that reminded us that beyond circumstances, we are one people.

We spent time with the inmates: we prayed, spoke, and sang together. One of the most touching moments was singing our anthem with them; seeing many of them join in making the experience even more meaningful.

As part of the outreach, we presented items such as drugs, sleeping mats, gallons for water ,toiletries, wrappers, and other essentials, all given with sincere hearts.

We were warmly received by the officers, who appreciated the visit and addressed us. A representative of the inmates also expressed their gratitude and shared words that resonated with everyone present.

It was a truly fulfilling experience for everyone. Today reminded us that kindness, presence, and simple acts of love can make a real difference.

For God and For Youth, through Christ!

The executive, through the Office of the Public Relation Officer(PRO), sincerely appreciates everyone who made the Diocesan Youth Day a success.

From the Holy Mass to the main event, we thank all who came out early, the ushers, executives, and the planning committee for their coordination. The liturgy was truly uplifting; the choir and instrumentalists were exceptional, the seminarian on the keyboard and the saxophonist added great depth, and those who proclaimed the readings carried out their roles beautifully.

We also appreciate those who coordinated the Cardinal’s procession, all Parish Presidents for effective mobilization, and the youths for their orderliness, respect for directives, and cooperation throughout.

We sincerely and deeply apologize to those who had prepared to present but were unable to do so due to time constraints. We understand the effort you put in, and we regret that it could not be accommodated. Your contributions are valued, and we assure you that necessary improvements will be made to ensure a better and more accommodating experience in subsequent editions.

Thank you all for being part of a meaningful and memorable celebration.

CYON-CADEK DYD 2026: A Day of Faith, Energy, and True Empowerment!

Yesterday, April 12th, 2026 the vibrant youths of Ekwulobia Diocese took over St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Nanka, for the 2026 Diocesan Youth Day, and the energy was absolutely unmatched!

We kicked off the day exactly how we should with a deeply spirit-filled 11am Mass. It set the perfect foundation of grace and unity before we transitioned into the core activities of the day.

Hosted under the spiritual guidance of our shepherd, His Eminence, Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpaleke, and guided seamlessly by our Chairman of the occasion, Engr. Chris Ejimofor, the entire program was a massive success.

This wasn’t just a regular gathering; it was a powerful session of empowerment and upliftment. From the heartfelt messages to the shared fellowship, every CYONite present was reminded of their immense potential, their strength in faith, and the bright future ahead of them.

And of course, it wouldn't be a youth day without the massive joy, the dances, and the beautiful representation from all the deaneries! The youths showed up, showed out, and celebrated our faith with absolute pride.

A massive shoutout to the DYD Committee led by Mr. Cletus Ezeokonkwo, Diocesan President; Mr. Francisco Okodo, and our Chaplain Rev. Fr. Peter Nwobodo for putting together such an impactful and well-organized experience.

The fire has been ignited. We are stepping into the rest of 2026 empowered and uplifted!

Fill our hearts with hope, peace, and new life.
Help us to walk in the light of His victory over sin and death.
May Your love shine through us today and always.

on this quiet and solemn day,
as the world waits in silence,
we reflect on the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Lord, teach us to be still in Your presence,
to trust even when all seems lost,
and to hold on to hope in the darkness.
As Christ lay in the tomb,
the promise of new life was already unfolding.
Help us to believe that even in our waiting,
You are working for our good.
Fill our hearts with faith, patience, and expectation
as we prepare to celebrate the joy of the Resurrection.
May this sacred silence renew our strength
and draw us closer to You.

Today, we thank God as our diocese, Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia (CADEK) marks six years of God’s grace and growth.

Over the years, the Diocese has continued to grow in faith, unity, and service under the guidance of our shepherd, Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpalaeke.

As we celebrate this milestone, we pray that God continues to strengthen the Diocese, bless its clergy, religious, and lay faithful, and lead it to greater heights in His vineyard.

May the years ahead bring even more spiritual growth and fruitful service to God and humanity
