RHEMA FOR LIVING
OFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FROM THE DESK OF GOD'S GENERAL APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEMAN
BIBLE READING : Ruth 3-4
TOPIC : OUR PERFECT EXAMPLES 5
TEXT : "Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way."
Matthew 15:32
In the scenario of our anchor text, He (Jesus) was justified to send the multitude away because they were in the wilderness and there was no where to buy such quantities of bread to take care of the multitude (Mathew 15:33).
More so, He had met their other needs which made them come to Him despite they were a great multitude.
Scripture reports, "And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus's feet; and he healed them: in so much that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see; and they glorified the God of Israel" Mathew 15:30 to 31.
But notwithstanding, His compassion would not let Him allow them to go hungry and he asked, "How many loaves have ye? And they said seven, and a few little fishes' (verse 34).
With that He fed the whole multitude and seven baskets were left full.
His compassion multiplied the little into much (verse 35 to 37), just as he had earlier done with five loaves and two fishes and there were twelve baskets as were left over (Mathew 14:14 to 21).
Living like Jesus means working in compassion which stood Jesus out all His days on earth as a man.
His compassion was overwhelming.
All through the scripture, one thing repeatedly stated about him which made Him to affect all that God connected with Him was His compassion.
Child of God, we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities... (Hebrews 4:15).
On earth as a man He was that compassionate that even laid down His life for us, and still does so even now in glory where He sits in majesty overseeing us as His own.
As children of His with His spirit in us.
PRAYER : "My Father, My Father! As I begin to pray, help me to walk in compassion.
