The Greek word translated as “light” in the Bible is Photizo—a word that describes the divine light of God dwelling within a believer.
As we read through the Synoptic Gospels, we see Jesus describe us as light bearers—people who carry God’s divinity within them. This inner light, Photizo, is what enables us to grow spiritually, mature emotionally, and bear the fruit of the Spirit.
When this light lives within you, you experience peace, joy, patience, endurance, and salvation. Above all, you come to truly know God.
However, Scripture does not call us to keep this light hidden. We are urged to let it shine for all to see, so that others may benefit from it. God has called us to stand out—to reflect the light of Christ in the way we live, manage our homes and businesses, nurture our marriages, and serve in ministry.
Every area of our lives is meant to carry the radiant, glowing residue of Jesus’ incredible love and light—the Phanello light—a light that shines outward for the world to see.
Today, as you go about your day, may you display the Phanello light. May everything about you shine for all to see, in the name of Jesus Christ. ✨
