“I am afraid that some of them have already gone astray and now follow Satan.” (‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭5‬:‭15)

Paul is writing to Timothy about the risk to young widows who become lazy and spend their time gossiping and meddling in other people’s business. But it’s not just young widows.

Look around and you’ll see all kinds of people who have decided to chase after Satan. Waiting on the Lord is hard. Patiently enduring the trials of this life is hard. Being faithful is hard. Sin is more fun. Until it’s not.

There will be a reckoning, if not now then when we see the Lord. And there won’t be a chance to tell him you’re still thinking about it, that you’ll get back to him later. Doesn’t work that way.

So choose your path now. If you are not following Jesus, you are following Satan. There is no middle ground, no neutral. The consequences are extraordinary, like heaven-or-hell-forever extraordinary. What you do today will determine your tomorrow and every tomorrow after that.

Choose Jesus. Get on your knees if you have to, stay there if you have to, if you can’t follow him any other way. But do not follow Satan.
