The Executive Committee of the Main Choir of Qua Iboe Church #3 Grace Bill Road, Eket was inaugurated today Sunday, 24th August 2025

The brief but impactful ceremony was conducted by the Pastor in charge & Superintendent of Eket Urban Superintendency, Rev Iniabasi Ekong.
He admonished the new Executive Committee members to be good ambassadors of the Choir in particular and the church in general because according to him, the Choir remains the mirror with which most activities of the church are x-rayed

Topic: The danger of Pride.
Part 2

OUTLINE
No matter how good & highly gifted you are, when it is laced with pride, it is not acceptable to God.
Pride is the first on list of what God hates (Proverbs 8:13)
Pride is a lifestyle sponsored by Satan, it is a satanic weapon used to separate us from God. Incidentally God is not interested in proud people & their services (Amos 5:23)

Dangers of Pride
1. Pride hinders God's help (Kings 5: 10-12)
The story of Naaman is a good example of how pride can stop someone from being helped by God. He almost missed the help of God because of pride. He looked down on God's prophet & his message. He wanted God to bring the healing in his own terms. Pride stood in the way of his own health & happiness
2. Pride is a limiting force. People with pride do not go far in life. Queen Esther in the Bible is another example, she crashed out of her position because of pride, she disobeyed the Royal order & lost her throne (Esther 1: 10-13, 19)
King Nebuchadnezzar also crashed out of his throne on the platform of pride (Daniel 4: 30-37).
When a man is proud, crash is inevitable. Pride kills people before their time, today many great destinies are wasted & destroyed because of pride
Pride is a major limitation to destiny fulfillment. Avoid the way of pride, humble yourself before God & man.
Pride is not good, God hates it, it does not have anything good to offer, it only leads to downfall.
Use the word of God to examine your actions, thoughts & utterances to verify the presence of pride in you.
3. God is against the proud (James 4:6, Psalm 138: 6) It is a very dangerous position, God opposes everything from the proud, including their prayers.

My counsel for all of us is that we should avoid pride & chose the way of humility.
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where there is pride in you.
