SIN OF TRANSGRESSION
[PART IV]
If you had followed the part II & III of the "sin of transgression" you would have noticed some cited people from the Bible that committed this sin. And if you missed the message I would advise you to search for it on our recent posts.
1 Samuel 15:24 KJV
And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord , and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
Saul is another case study, who for people's voice lost the position of authority. Saul had been given privileges before but this time, he missed it. From the text written above, "...I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord..." Saul wouldn't have committed this error if he had feared God more than his people. Despite Saul is a king; who will just need to instruct and multitudes will follow. Because where king's word abides there is word of authority, but why did Saul fear people? This is a question that i will love to ask you too. Why do you fear someone in your life? Is it because the person has promised you wordly attainment? Or he had bewildered someone before? Or he knows how to turn milk to meat? Of course, Saul would think the same way, being in the midst of wise and brave men who could advise profusely and give another seemed-better-options that counteract that of God's. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 10:28 KJV "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
Jesus had already declared whom to fear most, Who is God. It is at this juncture that I realize anyone that fears God will always obey Him and possess His attributes anywhere he finds himself.
When you fail to do what is inquired of you by God, He holds you responsible, though, you failed to accomplish the task because of people's intervention and what they perceived about it.
Remember our last series-- Adam, who gave complaints by saying, "the woman whom you gave to be with, she gave me of the tree and I did eat." Was he favoured because of the excuse? No he wasn't. When God gives you a primary assignment to be done, He wants you and not me, He needs you and not your pastor, He assigns and equips you not your spouse. If these mentioned people would be involved, then, they must not be against the assignment instead, they "must" support it.
Saul completely missed it, he gave an excuse too, "...because I feared the people and obeyed their voice." He was expecting Samuel: God's seer to say something nice like "you're pardoned" but what Samuel said was strait judgement, "...I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord , and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel."
My dear brothers and sisters, let's see to it, and put away every form of Transgressive Sin, we are still in the time of Grace; let make use of this grace before it gets fade. Saul was given privileges he missued them, so that God departed from him and became God's enemy...(to be continued)
