Listen up, Men!

This is a lesson every man must not only learn but pass on to the younger ones: know the difference between a stage and a choice. Life’s stages are non-negotiable—they happen to everyone. Teething, puberty, adolescence, aging—these are stages you can’t escape. But the decisions you make within those stages? That’s where your life is either built or destroyed.

Drinking, partying, and sleeping around are not stages; they are choices. And bad choices come with consequences—unplanned kids, broken homes, STDs, addictions, lost opportunities. Too many men destroy their futures by convincing themselves, “It’s just a phase; everyone goes through it.” That’s a lie society sells to justify recklessness. Don’t fall for it.

Look around. You’ll find men who’ve chosen wisely. Some married their high school sweethearts and built stable, loving homes. Others avoided alcohol and drugs entirely, focused on discipline, and now live peaceful, prosperous lives. These men didn’t “skip” a stage—they simply avoided destructive choices that others made excuses for.

On the flip side, you’ll see men who can’t escape the chains of their own bad decisions. They’re stuck in cycles of regret, wishing they could undo the choices that ruined them. All because they mistook recklessness for a stage of life they had to go through.

Teach your kids and siblings this: every choice has a price. Stages are inevitable, but choices are optional. Make the right ones, and you’ll build a life of strength and purpose. Make the wrong ones, and you’ll waste years cleaning up the mess.

A stage is a path nature forces you to walk. A choice is the road you decide to take. Choose wisely, because no one gets to skip the consequences. Stay disciplined, stay focused, and lead by example. That’s what real men do.
