Why the Name?

The Abdulkareem Bello Mosque bears the name of a man whose life of quiet devotion, generosity, and service to community inspired generations — Alhaji Abdul Kareem Bello.

In a touching act of filial piety and deep spiritual conviction, his daughter, Late Alhaja Kareema Olanrele Daranijo, envisioned this mosque not just as a structure of prayer, but as a living legacy. By naming it after her beloved father, she ensured that every prayer made, every Qur’an recited, and every act of worship performed within its walls would continue to earn reward for him — a true sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity) that lives beyond the grave.

This project was her gift of love, faith, and remembrance — a daughter's sacred offering to honor her father's name and values.

Throwback to a defining moment — the laying of the very first block on a sacred ground.

It wasn’t just the beginning of construction; it was the birth of a dream rooted in faith, love, and legacy.

This foundation carries more than concrete — it holds prayers, intentions, and the vision of a devoted mother, Late Alhaja Kareema Olanrele Daranijo, who began this mosque in honour of her father, Alhaji Abdulkareem Bello.

Every stone since then tells a story of community, sacrifice, and sadaqah jāriyah (ongoing charity).

May this effort continue to grow and serve generations to come.

The Abdul Kareem Bello Mosque Project began in 2002, inspired by the deep devotion of Late Alhaja Kareema Olanrele Daranijo, in loving memory of her late father, Alhaji Abdulkareem Bello.
