Happy International Youth Day/NCYM Sabbath

The NCYM Sabbath at The Church of God (Seventh Day) Nigeria, Calabar District Headquarters was a defining moment of rededication and impartation. New kingdom leaders were commissioned and charged to lead with integrity and vision, while many youths rededicated their lives to God and the work of ministry.

Speaking on “Different Context, Same Aspiration,” Aniebiet O. J. Ekong , NCYM Secretary, reminded us that though our times change, our mission does not: to win souls, build the Church, and raise uncompromising leaders. The presence of past leaders like Bro. Eze Eze O , Sis. Charity Cherish Alozie, as well as the District Leadership including the Superintendent Evangelist Moses Ofuoh made it a beautiful picture of continuity and unity. It was truly a Sabbath of vision and forward movement. To God be the glory.

SABBATH SERVICE UPDATE

Yesterday’s service was awesome! 🙏

We spent a blessed time in God’s presence, worshipping, praying, and fellowshipping together.

Our lesson discussion was powerful: "A WAY FOR WOMEN" - Luke 5-9
We learned how Jesus showed compassion, love and mercy to women who were sick and oppressed. After He healed them, they rose up to support His ministry.

The word reminded us that Jesus still sees the vulnerable, still heals, still delivers, and still calls people to serve Him today. It also emphasized the importance of women in the ministry.

The service also witnessed the presentation of baptismal certificate to Bro. Benson Jacob Anwana who joined the faith last year. We celebrate God’s faithfulness in his life.

Thank God for His Word and for everyone who came out!

FROM THE PRISON TO THE PALACE

Joseph's journey was anything but easy. He was betrayed by his own brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and forgotten in prison (Genesis 37–41). Yet through it all, he never abandoned his faith or compromised his integrity.

What others intended for his destruction, God transformed into his destiny.

Many people today are facing disappointment, unemployment, delayed opportunities, and broken dreams. Like Joseph, you may wonder when your season will change. But remember this: God is never late. He is preparing you even when life seems unfair.

Your present struggle does not define your future. If you remain faithful, God can open doors that no one can shut. The prison may be part of the journey, but it is not the final destination.

"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good..." (Genesis 50:20)

Remain faithful. Stay humble. Keep trusting God. Your palace may be closer than you think.

SABBATH UPDATE

Blossom Assembly, Palace Road, Anantigha, Calabar South LGA

The Calabar District Media Team reports another refreshing Sabbath experience from Blossom Assembly, where members gathered in an atmosphere of worship, fellowship, and spiritual renewal. The service emphasized the importance of love, unity, and commitment to Christ as the foundation for effective discipleship.

📖 Sabbath School
The Sabbath School lesson, "Call to Discipleship," was ably facilitated by Bro. John Bassey, who guided the congregation through Luke 5–9, highlighting Jesus' ministry in Galilee and His call to wholehearted discipleship. The lesson emphasized that Christ did not merely perform miracles but demonstrated the practical outworking of the gospel through teaching, healing, forgiving sins, showing mercy, and calling ordinary people into extraordinary lives of service.

Using the call of Peter (Luke 5:1–11) as a central illustration, members were reminded that true discipleship begins with hearing and obeying the Word of God. Peter's response to Jesus revealed that genuine encounters with Christ produce humility, repentance, and a willingness to surrender everything to follow Him. The lesson further challenged believers to imitate the character of the Son of Man by showing mercy, loving even their enemies, extending kindness without expecting anything in return, and remaining faithful to Christ regardless of the cost. It concluded with a call for every believer to move beyond being a mere church attendee to becoming a committed disciple who reflects Christ in character, service, and daily living.

The Assembly was blessed with the presence of brethren representing the District Superintendent, including:

Also in attendance was Bro. Stephen Eshiet, Superintendent of Esam Abasi Assembly, alongside other brethren. Their fellowship reflected the unity and love that continue to strengthen the body of Christ.

Topic: When Brothers Agree: God Shows Up
Main Text: Genesis 13:1–18
Ministering the Word, Aniebiet Ekong challenged the congregation to pursue peace and unity as essential conditions for experiencing God's presence and blessings.
Drawing from the account of Abraham and Lot, he explained how Abraham chose peace over personal advantage by allowing Lot to make the first choice of the land. Their peaceful resolution pleased God, who immediately reaffirmed and expanded His covenant with Abraham. The message further highlighted that God did not abandon Lot despite his later mistakes, as He preserved him and even recognized him among the righteous in the New Testament. The congregation was reminded that God honours peacemakers, rewards humility, and never forgets those who belong to Him.

The congregation also joined the choir in the joyful declaration:
"There Is No Disappointment in Christ!"

This Sabbath reminds us that healthy churches are built on love, humility, forgiveness, and unity. Like Abraham, believers are called to choose peace above personal interest, knowing that where unity prevails, God manifests His presence and commands His blessing.
We celebrate what God is doing in Blossom Assembly and pray for continued growth, greater impact, and abundant fruitfulness in the work of the Kingdom.

Yesterday marked a significant milestone in the life of our District as we successfully launched the Calabar District Evangelism Vehicle Fundraising Scheme.

The event brought together members from our four assemblies in a remarkable display of unity and commitment to advancing the Gospel of Yahshua Messiah.

The CPC Chairman, Aniebiet O. J. Ekong in his keynote address, described the initiative as a vision to strengthen evangelism, expand ministry opportunities, and support the work of God across Calabar District. Speaking on the theme, "Equipping the Mission: Expanding the Harvest" (Luke 10:2), he emphasized that the Evangelism Van will serve as a vital tool for evangelistic outreaches, district programmes, pastoral visitations, missionary activities, and other Kingdom assignments. When not engaged in church activities, it will also be hired out to generate income for the District.

The Chairman thereafter officially declared the Calabar District Evangelism Vehicle Fundraising Scheme open, committing the vision into God's hands.

Following the service, a strategic meeting was held during which members were nominated into ministerial positions for ordination, further preparing the Church for greater service.

We warmly invite members, friends, and everyone who believes in the Great Commission to support this Kingdom project. Every contribution brings us one step closer to acquiring a dedicated vehicle for the work of evangelism.
