Rooted and built up in Christ.
Col. 2:1-7; Matt. 7:24-27
Case Study: Paul and the Colossian Church.
Rooted: To be rooted mean to have a firm depth (a firm foundation) able to keep one steadfast in all season.
As a believer you have to be rooted and built up in Christ just as Paul admonished the Colossians. To be Built up means to grow.
Any Christian who is rooted and built up in Christ on storm will not blow him away.
The primary benefit of being rooted and built up in Christ is Spiritual stability.
How to be rooted and built up in Christ:
1. Study and meditate on the scriptures. Psalm 119:11 - Put the word of God into practise.
2. Consistent prayers (Luke 18:1).
3. Create a quiet time for yourself.
4. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
5. Motify your members (Kill every evil desire) – Col. 3:5-6
6. Engage in a prayer fellowship or have a prayer group. (Covenant brethren who pray with you and intercede for one another).
7. Live a life of thanksgiving (Phil. 4:4-7)
8. Service.
