TEXT: Proverb 16:6
TOPIC: Make your straight with God
HIGHLIGHT 🖊️
When your way pleases the lord,whatever you ask of him will be granted.
You must have faith.
Your way pleases God ,everything around you will be
God is not negotiating. The way to Him is straight, narrow, and definite. _Matthew 7:14_. Crooked living ends in a crooked grave. Today is the day to line up with Heaven.
WHY YOUR WAY MUST BE STRAIGHT – THE PROBLEM OF INIQUITY
Sin bends the path: Iniquity means “crookedness.” (Isaiah 59:2) your sins have separated you from God.
No man can clean himself: (Jeremiah 2:22_) “though thou wash thee... yet thine iniquity is marked.” Religion won’t straighten you. Culture won’t straighten you.
-Straight or lost: (Proverbs 14:12) “There is a way which seemeth right... but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
2. HOW YOUR WAY IS MADE STRAIGHT – THE PROVISION OF MERCY & TRUTH
Proverbs 16:6 gives the formula: “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged.”
Mercy: God’s part. Unmerited favor. (Titus 3:5) “Not by works... but according to his mercy he saved us.” The Blood of Jesus is the only detergent for sin. (1 John 1:7)
Truth: Your part. Honest repentance. (Psalm 51:6) “Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts.” No hiding, no excuses. Call sin what God calls it.
Purged = Removed: Not covered. Not managed. Deleted by God. _Psalm 103:12_ — “As far as the east is from the west.”
3. PROOF YOUR WAY IS STRAIGHT – THE FRUIT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD
“...and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.”
Fear of the Lord is not dread: It’s reverence that hates sin. Proverbs 8:13_“The fear of the LORD is to hate evil.”
Departing is definite: You don’t negotiate with poison. You drop it. _2 Corinthians 7:1_ — “let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness.”
Straight walk shows: Your language, your playlist, your relationships, your business — all come under new management. _Luke 3:8_ — “Bring forth fruits worthy of repentance.”
4. WHEN TO MAKE IT STRAIGHT – THE URGENCY OF NOW
Mercy has an expiry: (Genesis 6:3)“My spirit shall not always strive with man.”
Death has no calendar: (Hebrews 9:27) “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
Today is the day: (2 Corinthians 6:2)“Behold, now is the accepted time.”
CALL TO ACTION
1. Examine: Is there any crooked thing in your life? Secret sin, unforgiveness, fraud, immorality?
2. Confess: (1 John 1:9)“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive.”
3. Forsake:(Isaiah 55:7) “Let the wicked forsake his way.” Burn the bridge to your old life.
4. Follow: Walk straight from today. (Hebrews 12:13).
