DAILY REFLECTION WITH LUX MUNDI

Abraham was not just called the Father of faith without his own share of trials. God put Abraham to the test by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac to Him. Even though this was a tough call, Abraham did not question God, but was ready to do what God had commanded him. In place of his son, God provided a lamb of sacrifice. In the letter to the Romans, Paul points out that God did not hesitate to sacrifice His only son for our sake. Jesus is the true lamb of sacrifice and the fulfilment of all the laws and Prophesies. This is signified today in the appearance of Moses and Elijah at the Transfiguration of Jesus in the presence of Peter, James and John. We can learn to thrust all our cares and worries upon the Lord, knowing that all things will work for our good and in accordance with His will.
