Advantages of Serving the Lord
Ministered by Pastor Austin Mboso
"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over... Luke 6:38
When we talk about serving God, many people look at it as a burden or something we do just for the church. But there are divine advantages when you give yourself over to kingdom service!
Whatever you do as unto the Lord always returns to you. Consider the story of the young man who built a substandard house with his father-in-law's money, only to be handed the keys to that exact house at the end. When you cut corners in service, you only shortchange yourself. But when you serve God with excellence, whether sweeping, cleaning toilets, or interceding, it all comes back as a blessing to your own life.
God also shows up at your exact post of assignment. You don't need to envy another person's placement or race. A village pastor praying faithfully in a small hut is just as successful in God's eyes as anyone else fulfilling their call. When you stay where God assigned you and serve faithfully, that is precisely where His presence and power show up in your life.
Furthermore, serving preserves your time and legacy. In God’s calendar, our time on earth is short, and focusing on the mundane eats into your divine assignment. When you plug into kingdom service, your energy, resources, and time are invested into things of eternal value rather than wasted on distraction.
Finally, active ministry keys you into God’s move. Just like the prisoners in Acts 16 stayed put when Paul and Silas prayed and sang, being in the atmosphere of true service grounds you and keeps you anchored. When ministry is happening, release yourself into it, there is safety, direction, and healing in His presence.
Stop looking at the person sitting next to you. Run the race set before you, key into service, and watch God reward your faithfulness!
