Text:1 Timothy 6:3-5
Theme: "THE WORDS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE COMFORTING WORDS"
The phrase "Word" is a verbal command for action. It is an exchange of views on some topics.
In Christianity context, word is the second personality in the trinity which is incarnated in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Comforting is an act of according comfort and solace. In this dispensation, people are faced with so many worries in life. A typical situation is sickness, confusion, frustration and calamity; when one finds himself in any of these, he finds it difficult to speak. At this point, some persons are misinformed, misguided and cannot even be comforted by human words, but it takes only the grace of God to withstand worries.
A Biblical example is Job who faced trials and tribulations, misguided by his friends, but stood firm in his faith in God for the great change in his life.
So far as life goes on, worries will abound, but Jesus Christ has comforting words to everything we face in life and the word of our Lord is always there to keep us stable. Jesus, after speaking comforting words performs an action as affirmation.
We live in a world of tribulations, chaos, violence, uncertainties, separation, envy, disappointment, lonliness, rejection, depression, frustration and deceit but we are strengthened by the words of comfort of our Lord Jesus Christ, for as Christ overcomes the world, we are also overcomers.
To access Christ's comforting words;
-- You must be determined ( Matthew 9:21).
-- You must be seen by Jesus; you have to be available before him.
-- You must be heard by Jesus ( Luke 7:9).
-- You must believe in Jesus.
No matter the situation you find yourself, do not be worried for Christ has a comforting words for every situation and when He says it, it shall be established.
