WHY SHOULD WE LOVE
1. Because God is love, and we love because he first loved us.
1 JOHN 4:8, 4:19, ROMANS 5:8, JOHN 3:16
2. Because Jesus commands it as the defining mark of His followers
Jesus elevated love to the center of discipleship. He gave a "new command": "Love one another. JOHN 13:34, John 13:35.
This isn't optional advice; it's the primary evidence that we belong to Him. In the greatest commandment summary, loving God fully leads directly to loving our neighbor as ourselves—all the Law and Prophets hang on these two.
MATTHEW 22:37–40. For Christians, refusing to love others actively contradicts our identity in Christ and hides the gospel from the world. MATTHEW 5:16, EPHESIANS 2:10
3. Because love is the greatest virtue that endures eternally and proves our genuine relationship with God.
1 CORINTHIANS 13:13, 1 JONH 4:12, 1 JOHN 4:7, 1 JOHN 3:14,16,18, JONH 15:12-14
THE PROOF OF LOVE is
1. The willingness to listen
2. The passion to pleasure
